"After living nearby for 8 years and not realizing they served food, my partner, after doing some research, booked us a table for a rare evening out (which is usually not his responsibility). We were pleasantly surprised! If you love traditional pubs (which I do), the decor is charming and inviting, complete with wood burners, low-beamed ceilings, and stone floors. The food is good, affordable, and delicious—clearly prepared from scratch, far superior to typical pub fare. I really enjoyed my soul tang and sweet rolls, followed by feta and beetroot Wellington. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!"

Excellent visit, with great food and good professional service. Will revisit and recommend. Just be careful if parking your car under the trees, car was covered in tree sap after. Picturesque views from the outdoor area.

First, the positives: the food was excellent, the portion sizes were generous, the staff was friendly, there was a good selection of beer, and the surroundings were lovely. Now, for the negatives... there were none! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would highly recommend this place. Visualizza piatti

We discovered The White Bear by chance while traveling from the southwest to the northeast. It was a delightful surprise to find such a wonderful place—welcoming staff, delicious food, excellent wine, and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. It's definitely a welcome break from the usual service station burgers during long drives on the motorway. We'll be sure to visit again!

This small pub has an interior that feels different from its exterior style. The exposed wooden beams and the rustic stone floors give it the charm of an old country pub. Lunch is only served on Sundays, and they are closed on some nights for a few weeks. The menu is diverse and offers great value. The dishes we tried were well prepared and generously portioned. I've passed by this place many times, and it’s definitely worth remembering. I recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here.

"Me and my partner visited here, we are new to the area and this looked like a nice little spot. We entered and waited around 7 mins before someone acknowledged us there were staff walking in and out the kitchen looking at us) we could see they were busy so we gave it the benefit of the doubt. We were given a table in the corner of the room which we couldn’t move as there were customers basically sat on each others knees it was very small. We got the waitress attention after around 15 mins and she asked us what we wanted and we hadn’t even been given a menu which I found very odd. We wasn’t sure if we ordered at the till or it was table service. We basically just got shown to a table in the corner. The staff were nice and friendly it just seemed chaotic. No one had a role, they were ALL in the kitchen, they were ALL give the food out and taking payment . ALL showing people to the table ect it was just a bit much and I felt stressed watching them in such a tiny place. The food it’s self was nice enough and the venue is lovely and quaint which we loved. We then got up to ask for the bill as we hadn’t seen anyone. Instead of taking our payment one stood round chatting to customers, one was laying a table and taking food and the other was in the kitchen and we waited well over 5 minutes at the till waiting for someone to charge us. Then to be told they don’t take card … it’s was all a bit of a shambles. It would have been nicer to receive that information when we walked in and was shown to the table. Not the best experience but not sure if this was just a bad day for the place."
