"We decided to support this pub, which is very local to where we live, instead of going into town. After reading the reviews, we had high expectations, but we left feeling very disappointed. We ordered rustic bread with balsamic vinegar and oil for dipping, but what came out was slices of plain white bread with butter on it. The bread was served with my starter, even though we had asked for it before. The mains were okay, but my salmon tagliatelle lacked seasoning and I couldn't finish it. My husband's burger came with reheated chips. When he ordered a shandy, they told him they had run out of lemonade, which seemed odd for a pub. Overall, the pub is pretty and has potential, but unfortunately, we won't be returning."

Excellent food. Lovely 3 course meal. Couldn’t fault it. Attentive and helpful staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to return and try something else from the menu.

After a long walk, we were famished and decided to stop by the Woolpack for a meal. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and delicious food that was beautifully presented. The service was excellent.

Really lovely food. It was served promptly and with a lot if friendliness from the pleasant waitress called Jackie. It was my husband's birthday and he was so pleased with the quality and friendliness. It made our day!! We will be back

Really delicious vegetarian meal, freshly cooked and a bit different from the normal pub fare. Lovely old pub, only complaint is that the outside seating is really uncomfortable! The benches and tables are all a bit wonky and move when you sit on them. Visualizza piatti

I had high expectations for this restaurant, but I was greatly disappointed. The staff were standing around talking and ignoring customers. The food that was served looked completely burnt. I will not be returning here and would advise others to avoid this place.

We stayed at the Woolpack Hotel on a Friday night in July, 2021 (reviewed the hotel separately suffice to say it was lovely). One note the menu on the website is out of date and, I might say, nothing like as good as the actual menu offered. So it might be worth updating it to entice more people in!

We called in for lunch without a booking and were seated quickly. We were brought a bottle of water and orders taken by friendly staff and the food followed without too long a wait. All the meals were piping hot. The fish was the best we had tasted for sometime and the pies were tasty, with delicious creamy mash and veg cooked to perfection. We will definitely return. This could be a lovely pub and has been over the years. Sadly we were not greeted or acknowledged on arrival, it wasn't busy and when we were served not a smile was given. The atmosphere has been killed by the grey walls and lack of personality. We sat outside and it was a lovely evening it should have been buzzing, even the waiting staff didn't smile. What a shame for a country pub to have lost it's personality.

Delicious food in lovely surroundings. Despite being two members of staff down the service was friendly and efficient. Food was beautifully presented, generous portions and totally delicious. I had the battered cod, beautifully cooked fish, skin removed in a light crispy batter. My husband had the belly pork and well he cleared his plate! Desserts were sublime, chocolate tart, lovely thin crisp pastry, the peanut butter cheesecake beautifully presented and delicious. We’d definitely recommend

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
