"There is a wonderful hiking trail from Bad Dürkheim via Hardenberg directly to the old Melt, but you can also walk from Hardenberg, then it is only 4 kilometers through the magnificent Palazwald along the Isenach on well-developed forest trails. You will then be rewarded with many delicious Palatinate specialities and good wines at really fair prices. The location, the ambience, the friendly service and the delicious food give here the full score and a repetition visit is already planned. Cushion can also drive directly there. (The intervening road block is cancelled) Nearby you will also find several rewarding excursion destinations such as the Bismarckturm, the Hardenburg, the Limburg, the Wachtenburg and the Turnerehrenmal to name just a few."

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal in der alten Schmelz zum Abendessen, alles war sehr lecker zubereitet, dazu ein sehr freundlicher Service , wir kommen wieder !!

Bodenständiges Gasthaus mit Pfälzer Spezialitäten. Wir waren auf der Durchreise. Um 14:30 Uhr ein Schild zu sehen "heute durchgehend warme Küche" ist ein echter Lichtblick. Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung (unser Hund hat unaufgefordert Wasser bekommen - super). Alles bestens - was will man mehr.

"Die Alte Schmelz " bei Bad Dürkheim , ein absolutes Muss für jeden Besucher der Region.Regionale Küche paart sich mit durchaus 'haute cuisine'. Der Chef kocht persönlich und die Chefin backt Traumkuchen. Platzreservierzng fast unerlässlich. Aber wie man es gewohnt ist bei der pfälzer Gastlichkeit , ein Plätzchen findet sich immer. Besonders schön der baumreiche Aussenbereich für den Sommer.

Die Einrichtung schlicht aber sehr ansprechend, Atmosphäre eines typischen Pfälzer Gasthauses ,Tische dafür überraschend stilvoll eingedeckt.Neben den typisch pfälzischen Gerichten (Leberknödel ! ) auch einiges in origineller Darbietung (Pfälzer Salat !) Insgesamt sehr ordentliche Qualität.Eigener Raum für Hunde und spielende Kinder, klingt ungewöhnlich, war aber sehr angenehm.Toiletten etwas älter aber sauber.Bedienung sehr freundlich und schnell.

Es ist mir ein echtes Bedürfnis Euch nochmal ganz herzlich Danke zu sagen für das tolle Menü und den liebevollen individuellen Service gestern. Meine Freundin und ich waren hellauf begeistert. Es war ein Rundumwohlfühlpaket und die Krönung unseres Tages! Vielen vielen Dank dafür… Das einzige was nicht gestimmt hat - war der Preis…. Auf jeden Fall werden wir beim nächsten Mal wieder bei Euch einkehren und freuen uns jetzt schon richtig darauf!!!Alles Liebe für Euch und liebe Grüße an das gesamte „Schmelz-Team“ Ich kann nur sagen - zum Dahin“schmelzen“

Because we wanted to take devastating Pällzisch to us, we were spontaneously dragged by friends from LU to the old melt. It lies with a beautiful beer garden in a relatively narrow deep forested valley on a strongly driven road (motorcycles! . Due to the location it gets cold early and you are happy to get back to the warmer LU in the evening, especially when we were sitting alone in the garden at 8 pm. Liver dumplings, Saumagen, Bratwurst were of normal good quality. Also the usual white wines of the region (Grauburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, etc.).
