"Three lady friends from Athens, Greece and I, being avid travelers and planning a visit to Stuttgart, did a lot of "investigating" for good restaurants of the city before we arrived and, after reading the reviews on TRIPADVISOR, but also on the recommendation of German friends, we decided to book a table at this restaurant. Since I speak German, I personally called the restaurant one week in advance and made a reservation. The relevant day, when the concierge of the Hotel ALTHOFF AM SCHLOSSGARTEN, where we were staying, called to confirm our booking, he was told that they couldn't find our reservation, but it would still be OK, if we went. I mention all the above, only because I wanted to make clear, that the people in the restaurant were aware of the fact, that we came from Greece and were guests, who were not visiting their restaurant by chance. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, but we were shown to our table very shortly. Our waitress, I think her name was Lisa, was a lovely young woman, polite, friendly and efficient, taking our order. For our first course we decided to order a big platter of asparagus, which happens to be in season in Germany, for all of us to share. The platter arrived and, as we were all looking at the asparagus, before having a chance to share them on our plates, the manager of the restaurant rushed to our table and told us in German: "Don't inspect our plates, to see if they are clean, German dish washing machines do a good job and plates are not dirty like they are in Greece!!!!" She then left in a rush to go to the next table. I admit all four of us were flabbergasted and shocked! I managed to compose myself and speaking loud enough, so that she could hear me, I told her that we were only looking at the asparagus we were ready to share. I also added that her words were unacceptable and insulting. Our shock was big, but we tried to continue our evening, which had been distracted so impertinently. The food was really good, as well as the service of the nice waiter. At the end of our meal, our waitress brought us a small glass of schnapps and said it was from the manager. As we were leaving, I asked to see her, but I was told she was busy in the kitchen!! I wish she would have had the politeness and the guts, to see us and at least tell us, that she was sorry for her words, but I guess it was easier for her to avoid it. Still I promised my friends and myself, that incidences like that should be brought to the knowledge of TripAdvisor's travelers. I have learned to trust the reviewers on its site and, most importantly, my experience in life has taught me, that behavior, manners and politeness even in a restaurant are more important than having a good meal."

This homey restaurant was an excellent choice. It is on the edge of the red light district - but not to worry. Take a cab. The food was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. We met locals and had a most fantastic conversation. Enjoy.

I work on a private aircraft. I fly around the world looking for 5 star restaurants to gather catering for the private jets. This restaurant was wonderful. The food was excellent and the owners where "very" accommodating. I highly recommend this place!

Been here 4 times. 1 of them included great service and the best whitefish I've had in Germany. The second, was so-so, and the other two were somewhere in between, but definitely worth the trip. If you catch the staff on a good night, there's few places better to eat in Stuttgart.

Recommended by Booking.com as a must-do when in Stuttgart, the place turned out to be a bit overpriced and the food we ordered not really worth the money. It wasn't bad and the staff were nice, but I would definitely have considered going somewhere else had I known what I know now.

The Weinstube is centrally located and in the red light district. Cozy atmosphere, nicely furbished, a place to stay longer. The menu includes local "classics" and a changing menu and as the name suggests a wide variety of wines. Food was great for all of us. Service was very attentive and quick. Highly recommended.

This is the first important information: this is a restaurant where Germans come for a good (no, fantastic) Wiener Schnitzel. The Rinderbrühe with Maultasche (a broth with a german ravioli) is out of this world in a cold evening. The decor is perfect german without the baroque approach we foreigners expect. Company was lovely. She, took me there. A great beginning for a great night. Very good local wine too. Give German red wine a try. You will like it!!!

Had a great dinner at Weinstube Frölich with a group of friends. I have tried quite a bit of Swabian food, and their hausgemacht (homemade) Maultaschen was hands down the best I've ever had. The also had quite the wine menu too. Atmosphere was great, and the staff very friendly and spoke in English to those of our party who didn't speak German. The only downside is that it is a little more expensive than other restaurants similar to it, however the quality of the food and wine means I'll definitely be back. Great experience.

The dishes served in this restaurant are exquisite! The best preparation, combination of ingredients and freshness I have had in forever and never in such a small and unassuming location. The restaurant is in a bit of a red-light district in Stuttgart but don't let that put you off. The chef plans and prepares his limited menu with exactness and such obvious care. The restaurant is small so reservations are important so call ahead. Ask for the wood room to the right of the bar as you walk in if you want a little more ambiance but wherever you sit you have come for the food! We had deer medallions to start that melted in our mouth! My husband had a version of beef stroganoff over perfect rice...
