Wilsons Fish And Chips

Parked up within 2 minutes of being handed the food to eat our haddock and chips. It was all soggy, stone cold and cooked in rancid fat. Disappointed as this used to be the best fish and chips for miles. Had to put it in the bin.

Poor service again which means I 'll be going elsewhere in future. What is it with the server calling everyone darling. I find it quite rude. Sausages are cheap nasty rubbish but according to the staff this is what people want. Pies are lukewarm. Fish is apparently cooked fresh which means at least a 10 minute wait.

The outside of the shop is adorned with 5 stars and ‘award winning’ style messages. If you’re going to big yourselves up so much, shouldn’t you aspire to uphold the claims? Although the shop is well presented, the service was less than spectacular. Rude, miserable staff did their best to provide indifferent service, prices are on the high side although the food was okay but nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t go back.

Fish and chips used to be a reasonably priced family meal . Not anymore. Wilson’s have put up their prices again over past couple of months. Rock and chips for 2 now £21 ! A couple of months ago it was £19 even that was expensive. The fish portions and chips are small and chips are soggy. The fish we had today had a weird smell and wasn’t fresh. Was going to take back but wasn’t worth the petrol so went in bin. We’ve voted with our feet for future f&cs.

I have been a regular customer of Wilson’s for a few years but the quality of the food has gradually deteriorated and the prices are now ridiculous given the quality. On the last two occasions I have had items missing from my order! It should not be necessary to rifle through the bag to make sure I have chips to go with my fish before leaving the shop! Wilsons is a Fish and Chip Shop, rather than a restaurant, but it has two tables each with two seats. And as the folk waiting for chips to fry were standing up, I asked to eat in. The fish was already cooked and waiting. So I expected the usual woolly cod after being in there ages and some fresh chips. Instead the cod was lovely, soft big flakes in a pleasant batter. One or two early chips were hard but the rest fine. All in a stiff cardboard box for £7.45. Worth going if youre in Chingford hungry. Turnover seemed quite high for a weekday at 1.45pm.

How people queue for this place is beyond me! Fish mediocre at best and chips soggy!! When they first opened the chips were OK. The fish has always been poor. I use this place once in a blue moon and only when in a rush. No more visits from me . Staff act as if they are above the customer which is amazing given the crap served up. Sams down the road) actually have better fish and are far more friendly plus serve bigger portions. I actually am not worried about the size of the portion but more so the quality. Honestly try other places because this place is going from bad to worse!

Unfortunately, this is no longer the best fish and chip shop in the area. The quality and size of the fish and chip portions have changed for the worse over the last couple of years. My visit a couple of weeks ago finally made my mind up that it would be my last, which is sad because I have been a loyal customer for many years. The cod was small and covered in an oily soggy batter. The chips were poor and tasted like they had been sitting around for quote sometime.
