Windmill On The Common

Had an incredible dinner at the windmill, pork belly was absolutely delicious. Our waitress, Lisa, was outstanding and made our day!

A fantastic Christmas Day, gorgeous lunch served by friendly staff then drinks in the cosy bar afterwards. Would highly recommend to others.

A beautiful dining area in the pub much better than I’d expected fab decor, furnishings, great seating plus fabulous menu we shared some starters and sides … all good was delicious with great service too.

Went to the windmill for lunch with the family as we were celebrating a new addition to the family. We had lisa for our waiter, she was absolutely great, very attentive, and extremely friendly. We had allergies on the table and she was able to direct us to the right meals which we really enjoyed. Will defo be back.

We recently stayed at the Windmill for two weeks and were extremely satisfied with everything - from the room, to the staff, to the location. We decided to book Christmas lunch at the restaurant and were not disappointed. The day was wonderful and the team went above and beyond to make sure all the guests were taken care of. We went to this restaurant for Christmas Eve lunch. The food was delicious and the decorations were lovely. However, the service was quite poor. Most of the waitstaff seemed unhappy, with one in particular being very unfriendly. While I know they may be tired, a little Christmas spirit would have been appreciated. This restaurant has always been our family's favorite spot for dinners, but I don't think we'll be returning after this experience.

We had a fantastic evening at The Windmill restaurant on 18th December. We arrived early for our reserved table but this wasn’t a problem at all….we were shown to our table immediately and our drinks order taken. The service thereafter was impeccable and the food first class. It was our son’s 30th birthday so we wanted it to be a special evening and it certainly was, thanks to our fantastic waitress Aaliyan who made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back again….need to try the other dishes on the menu!

The Windmill is nicely located for our various family members to meet up. There were 12 of us and service was fine. The table for 12 has two pillars on either side in the middle of the table which isn’t great for conversation naturally. That was our main gripe. The food was ok, we had a variety of dishes and no big complaints from anyone. The restaurant doesn’t let you move chairs around from other tables. With 12 of us at the table, separated by the pillars, we couldn’t easily mingle unfortunately. We liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and pub. Also being next to the common is great.
