"We visited for the Sunday Lunch and, just as in our previous visits were once again completely bowled over. Three courses. I chose mushroom soup for my first. I could have dined on this incredible intense flavour all day. Our second course was beef. The wine was a palate-blessing 2016 Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rothschild estate (Lafite) in Mendoza Agentina. Again, in Yorebridge style, the beef was so tender, very special and so satisfying with perfectly cooked veg. For the third course I chose 72% chocolate, raspberry and honeycomb. My wife had sticky toffee pudding and gave me a gorgeous taste of hers whilst I was in the middle of enjoying mine and left me feeling I should have chosen everything and blow the expense. Honestly, it really doesn't matter what you choose at this award winning restaurant. Everything here is such a taste delight. It is little surprise that they are in the process of installing a helicopter landing pad for those who can't get there fast enough!"

We booked a two night Christmas break early in the year, and were looking forward to it tremendously.

A nice 5 course menu was available with a recommended wine pairing for each course, which we opted for. Each course had clean flavours and an appealing presentation. The service was efficient and enthusiastic. Overall a very nice meal.

The food at this restaurant is outstanding and the service is friendly and professional. The only downside is the desserts, which were slightly disappointing. The restaurant should consider hiring a skilled pastry chef if they want to achieve a Michelin star.

Situated in the center of the Dales with plenty of nearby walking trails, this accommodation was top-notch. We stayed in the Jasper room with our furry friend and found ample space for all of us. The full English breakfast served was outstanding. The staff were exceptional and truly made our stay wonderful.

Enjoyed another stay here (2nd visit) during half term with a 2 night stay in a hot tub room overlooking the river and bridge. Room was nice and spacious, with a comfy bed, and tasteful decor. Only downside was the peeling Zealand round the shower tray, cracked plaster in the toilet on the wall and wonky light shades on the lamps, small things but hotels in this price bracket (5 stars) should be perfect. Outside area and hot tub were fabulous, overlooking the river and nicely lit at night and with total privacy. Are on the hotel both evenings and the food was exquisite. Beautifully cooked and presented with quality drinks and wine list. Had breakfast both mornings too, and I challenge anyone...

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
