"We vowed not to eat at this pub again under it's previous ownership but, as we live locally, we wanted to give it another chance following the change of ownership. The pub itself is very attractive and had a busy and pleasant atmosphere when we...arrived. The beer (London Pride) and our wine were both good so far so good. We then ordered our meals trying to keep things simple with choices that should be easy to produce. Our main courses then arrived before our starters! When we pointed this out the waitress/manager whisked them away and produced the starter. I asked if the main course would be left to stand in the kitchen to which she replied in the affirmative. I. therefore, decided we would have both at the same time. Not once did we receive an apology nor were we asked if we wished to forgo the starter. Indeed, judging by the waitress/manager's attitude we felt that we were in the wrong for bringing the issue to her attention. Furthermore one of the mains (a lasagne) was not properly heated. This is very poor as I feel that this was a pre prepared/packaged meal that just required heating in a microwave. No offer was made to discount our bill nor was any apology forthcoming. Overall the experience was extremely disappointing. We may use the pub again to have a drink but I doubt that we will eat there again. It is such a pity as there is so much that is good or potentially good but customer service, attitude and food leave much room for improvement, or , indeed, a complete overhaul!"

"I haven’t tried this place out, had some guests thought let’s give this place a try. Starting off the night with the most poor service I have ever had with a restaurant. Ten of us had arrived, we hadn’t called up. Luckily there was space. The restaurant was very busy, and there were two people serving and taking orders for over 60 70people (rough estimate). We had to ask 2 3 times every time we ordered something. What I don’t understand is how you can have two people serving/taking orders for this many people. At one point I ordered a separate portion, and I was told that there’s the table of 50 who will get their food before me which is understandable, to an extent. We had waited over 15mins for 4 bottles of water, I asked numerous times. On top of all this 6 of our ten glasses we had were dirty, when I asked for new ones; I was told “do you not have glasses” the server then took the glasses and put them on to another table for someone else. We then had two plates which had all dried up sauces on it etc etc, asked for more. Once again in a very arrogant tone he said “yeh fine”. Bare in mind it’s been 40mins, and we’ve only had our starters; I understand sometimes things happen orders take time etc. But really, come on. At this point I’ve asked for an update, they responded with “I can’t do anything you have to wait” which I found extremely rude. About 20mins go by, our mains start to arrive. Another 10mins go by, and we’re still waiting on our naans. On top of that they’re very fast to take dishes, which kind of looks like they don’t have enough cutlery but rushing me is only going to aggravate me. After everything arrives, I’m being told the extra “starter” dish is now being made. Bare in mind it’s been a good while now. Luckily all the curry dishes were good, otherwise this would have set off everyone I was with. Finally my additional starter dish arrives, and it was so poorly prepped. Looked in edible, I wish I had taken pictures.. Seems like the staff here are running around like headless chickens, mainly catering for the larger groups. On top of this, I was not aware you can bring alcahol in to the restaurant. Anything we asked the staff, they were just reluctant to help. No management, all in all terrible experience. Will not be coming back. Also, the card machine is broken . The display part of the shop at the entrance is empty, the people cooking behind the counter seem very dirty. The place needs a deep clean, marketing needs to step up and sort this out."

"I ordered takeout from Anna's Thai for the second time on February 4th, and I must say, this was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. When I called to place an order for delivery, I was told that I had to order online. Before I could respond, the person on the other end of the line hung up. Despite enjoying the food previously, I placed an order with the expectation that my delivery would arrive within an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes passed, I had to call twice as they kept telling me the driver was on the way, first in 5-6 minutes and then 3 minutes. Unfortunately, my partner, who is diabetic, was becoming unwell due to his sugar levels, so I cancelled the order and demanded a refund. I was then told that the driver mistook my neighbour for the one who ordered (clearly not reading the order properly) and that they would prepare another meal for us. I rushed out to get an alternative takeaway to avoid further delays, only to find out that our food was being accepted by our so-called neighbour (the driver asked if the food was for them at the specific door number). This was essentially theft and shocking. When I confronted the driver about this and why he was giving our food to someone else, he wanted to give it back to me, which is against Health Safety regulations. I declined and asked him to take the food back. The driver then swore at me, got back in the car, and sped off. Although the restaurant responded to my email quickly, they have not taken any accountability for the situation, claiming that they don't have control over the drivers' behavior once they leave the shop, and their only responsibility is to drop off the food. I am still waiting to see if they will acknowledge their failure to meet customer expectations. My advice: do not order from Anna's Thai."

"Visited the TC in Brighton Rd, South Croydon ...the first visit was back on 3rd December and it was lovely..hot food, decent portions and the vegetable top ups with relishes, excellent. super waitress service..We left a tip!! However, the 2nd visit, yesterday 17th December was a disappointment..The food, not so good, small carved meat, the chef seemed really mean about meat portion sizes and quite happy to carve meat that was about 10x10cm radius left on the board!! We had to ask for more meat and so this experience was very different to the previous visit.. This chef wasn't very cheerful and I felt his manner was abrupt!! The potatoes were cooked well but warm to cold, fresh cooked veg was served hot and on point but to be honest, I'm not sure to visit again simply because the carved meat portions were too meagre. Also, why aren't TC allowed to give customers the wing of the bird if they want to eat it? Surely, adults are of an age to be trusted to eat food with bones??? Maybe include a proviso or have customer sign a disclaimer??? The waitress service was okay not as on point as the previous occasion but a pleasant lady.. TC needs to ensure its food is piping hot, and when needing to be replenished, at sufficient intervals to ensure no long queues and waiting time and then a chef who isn't mean with carved meat portions (especially when dinerss aren't allowed to go back for more!! and in the later part of the afternoon/evening service."

"as part of the birthday party of a friend I was invited to a meal in frankie bennys. we were a large group of about 6 8 people and the staff could simply sort a group table for us directly in the middle of the restaurant. my friend, who used to be at franky benny, suggested that I try the warm garlic balls as starter. they receive about 4 6 teig balls in one part and they offer them pots of garlic paste. I have to say that I was absolutely addicted to her garlic paste and the teigballs tasted amazingly once immersed in her, I recommend definitiw to get it as an appetizer! I then ordered the classic steak and chips, the around £12, so cheap and cheerful. I rarely like my steak medium and they were quite banged up. it's not the best steak I've ever had, but for this price it wasn't bad at all. we decided that we wanted to surprise the birthday child and that personal asked if they could help us. they assured us that they will do something while our desserts were prepared. next we know that the music in the restaurant changed into a happy birthday song and they brought out a cake with an illuminated candle and encouraged us all to sing. it was really a good experience for all of us and especially for the birthday child. I was at frankie benny’s several times later and my only recommendation is that if they go with a large group of family members, then avoid changing as the waiting times can be very long. however (if they ask nicely) employees can happily take their number and give them a call when they prepare a table for them. this gives them the opportunity to stay away from the packed restaurant and enjoy a game with pool or air hockey, next door in the arcade."

"Consider, not the lilies of the field, but your breakfast options at the witching demi-hour of in Central Croydon. Will you be a chosen one to purchase the last few cooling pancakes and syrup or a sausage burger at Mc D’s ? Will you...fail to summon energy to escalate up to M&S for a sandwich ? Will you, like this humble scribe, step back at Greggs and behold in horror the zeitgeist shrinkage of slim girthed baked goods, more positively regarded as giant canapes ? Nothing ventured nothing gained, I pushed against an open door at KFC in Church Street, just two tram stops down from East Croydon Train and tram stations, the one next to Timpsons on the left side of the tracks. At I had an original recipe meal , hot wings, cherry pepsi and punnets of hot sauce and garlic/buttermilk mayo, for under by card. The sauces have potassium, much lauded by nutritionistas , you can go plant (well, chip) based here, with zing and follow on to hunting and gathering edible plants at Surrey Street Market. The fizzy pop was liquid marzipan, because of the vanilla and cherry mix, novel. Unctuous, melt off the bone original recipe, contrasted with biscuity coated chili wings. Each sauce punnet cost and if you ever have non-KFC lunch on the go, I would urge you to stock up multiples of this hot sauce and garlic mayo. The hot sauce dialled down the sugar contains no tex mex cumin a good thing), the butter-milked mayo had extra oomph. I wish I had ordered extra chips, as even massive double dunking only used up half of each. KFC have researched this well with Mc Cormick saucieres. Great team here, Franchisee never mean with serviettes, smiley too.. The ambience would serve well for Saturday brunch after the Friday night before in my view, romantic even. The light is subdued by strategic posters. The ceiling is quite low and most are tables for two. The playlist included soulful Amy Winehouse rather than hectic drive-time radio. During Monday to Friday, this would be an inspired breakfast meeting venue for eight at the west corner, the wide wood Windsor chairs are expansive and um, friendly. One can rock in at o’clock ante meridian, on one’s credit card. Heaven."

"I have been coming to this place for many years as this is my local restaurant and it used to be a really nice, vibrant, busy place! Unfortunately not anymore, we have been told that the management recently changed and this place is not the same unfortunately. We booked a table with some friends for the New Year eve and we have been told that there will be DJ and dancing in the venue as it was in the previous years, which was brilliant previously, we have paid deposit as well. When we arrived, we have been told that there will be no DJ, which clearly we were given the wrong information and were mis sold. We have waited for the table for half an hour and when we finally sat down and ordered the food, my friend accidently nocked the grass of beer. The 'Manager ' came over and told us that they are not going to serve us drinks anymore and he took away our drinks which we have paid for. It was unbelievable! I have never experienced this in my life, such an appalling service and horrible attitude towards the customers! It was humiliating and embarrassing in front of all other customers! Since they took our drinks, we simply stood up and left the restaurant! The New Years eve has been completely ruined! They have returned out deposit later, but I will NEVER go to this place again and would not recommend to anyone as your special occasion or a simple visit could be ruined! The service was appalling!!!"
