"Awful. Definitely do not consider here if you have a family. Very loud group playing dance music and shouting. We rang and got told someone would come down- it stopped briefly but then restarted. We rang again to be told they weren’t being excessively loud and no noise policy was after 11 this was about 10) Fair enough but this wasn’t a bit of noise it was a full on party. Our son was upset because he just wanted to sleep. So we waited patiently until 11 but did the music stop no- very loud music and shouting/ screaming/ swearing well into early hours. Given earlier concerns no one came to check or ask them to stop."

"The service upon arrival was pleasant and efficient. However, we received double the amount of popadoms we had ordered, which seemed odd. After waiting for an hour without any indication of when our food would arrive, we noticed that a table which arrived after us had already been served. It turned out that they were served first because they did not receive popadoms like we did. When we questioned this, we were told that the table had been served first because they did not have popadoms. This was the final straw for us, as waiting for over an hour in a restaurant without any explanation was unacceptable. Despite the waiter trying to downplay our wait time, another diner confirmed that we had indeed been waiting for over an hour. In the end, we decided to leave, as other diners also voiced their complaints about the long wait."

"After a lovely walk on the monsal trail, we found a quaint pub named the wheatsheaf. Met by Sahil, warm greeting and showed us to our seats. Lovely pint of Aspall, so decided to order food. Fish and chunky chips, steak and ale pie with lovely thick gravy. Great find, sorry no photos."

"I absolutely love cafe in the park. I’m happy every time I come in for a cuppa and a coke or lunch. Everyone who works there is amazing. Today though was the absolute best. I had the turkey, bacon, cheese and cranberry stack with pigs in blankets and it was (chefs kiss) perfect. My mother in law had the turkey and stuffing ciabatta, with pigs in blankets, roast potatoes and gravy and said the exact same thing. I know what I’m having for lunch next Wednesday."

"we had a lunch in jack rabbits on a way back from dovedale. the place was great, they had a box full of toys, colorful books for children, as we with our 2 yer old, that was life-saving, we knew that we will be able to sit and have a nice meal while our son explores new toys. it is really hard to find beautiful places where to eat and where is a kind of entertainment available for children. up there, jack rabbit! eating was nicely prepared and fresh, I was told that all ingredients were produced locally. beautiful meals available for children. it was a little long wait until we got our food, but I had nothing to do with it when tasse tee was quickly brought to me:"

"Walked to Hartington from home fully intending to grab a bite to eat here. We arrived at 13.40pm and so had a good hour to dine then get the bus back. We had different meals: bacon, brie cranbury and hot crusty bread, and the second meal was a big breakfast but had 2 x eggs plus an oatcake, and a pot of tea for two. It was all absolutely fantastic, large, tasty and great value for money. A quick tub of raspberry ripple ice-cream finished it off perfectly. Apart from the great food the service and staff were absolutely wonderful....... Top notch. Lovely people that go above and beyond with a smile. I recommend 100% and we shall be regulars, but I think we'll drive there in future. A big thank you to everyone for everything!!!"

"I went there with my boyfriend for dinner (both foreigners and on a holiday in the area). Not only have they mistreated us while taking our Personal details (Covid), but they ignored us for over half an hour by not acknowledging us and serving other costumer around our table. We saw other tables getting their drinks (all locals, white, mostly male and cisgender) and when we tried to get the waitress’s attention we got ignored.I came across the bar to talk to the waitress again so we could place the order (at this point we just wanted to get some food and a pint as it was 20:30 already and were quite hungry) but we were told to wait at the table and she would be with us in a minute.She finally came to the table and took our order (finally! We were happy we were actually having food) but two minutes later she came back telling us that kitchen was closed even though we were never been told the kitchen was about to close Upon arrival.We tried to explain to her that we’ve been waiting for 30 minutes, and that every other restaurant and pub in town was closed, that we didn’t care what they would serve us, we just wanted to eat something. She then replied without making eye contact and a very bad attitude “can’t you see how busy I am? We’re not serving food” and then just walked away from us. Bare in mind that she had just taken a good order from a table across from us 5 minutes ago.This is very sad and concerning that something like this still happens in a contra like the UK. Someone had recommended us this place and to our surprise it was demoralising to go somewhere and be treated like that. Poor management and mediocre service"

"Mainly used for Wedding Parties meetings but the have a very lovely cafe restaurant. This building is full of history charm and character. If visiting the centre and the adjoining park remember there is a small charge to park. At the bottom of the park visit the railway station used for visitor trips. Very quaint with a glimpse of the past, steam trains charging through, signals and signal box. The park is good for children be careful, deep lake and pond close. The centre is run by volunteers and donations. Please support if visiting."

"A very wet monday night for 2 campers and a dog! We were so grateful for a lovely welcome. It was full of customers. We sat in the pergola area which was beautiful whilst the rain continued to pour down. I had the most interesting and delicious salad that I have ever been offered and added delicious cauliflower pekora. My partner had sea trout which he greatly enjoyed followed by a beautiful sweet which included mango pomegranate, In the middle of the night we were rained out of our tent, packed up and went home! The Ashford Arms was a wonderful haven which we highly recommend. Deidre and Mike"

"We like to try different pubs in the Peak District for Sunday lunch and I have to say that The George came pretty high up the list today. I can quite honestly say that although we've eaten in many places in Tideswell, we've never tried...The George, but seeing good reviews on TA, we thought we'd try it. I had the Turkey roast and the OH had the chicken, leek and bacon pie. There were 5 veg, plus mash and a superb Yorkshire pudding that must have just come out of the oven. We shared a crumble, which, again, was excellent (made with brown sugar and butter! It was all very reasonable and the staff were attentive. However, just one point to mention, we were cold, as were other people please next time we come, have the heating on and light the fires it makes such a difference!!"

"While traveling from Stockport to Lincoln through the Peak District, we stopped at a café for a cup of tea and a bacon roll to fuel us for the journey ahead. The café appeared cozy and inviting, but we were shocked to find that the tea cost £2.50 each. We ordered two bacon sandwiches at £4.95 each, but the service was disappointingly slow. Despite ordering two teas, only one pot was brought to our table. After 35 minutes of waiting, we found out that our order had not even been placed with the kitchen. Frustrated and pressed for time, we requested a refund and left the café, feeling hangry. Thankfully, we found a much more pleasant experience at the Spire View Cafe just 5 miles down the road, where we enjoyed friendly service and delicious food at a reasonable price. Overall, we would not recommend Cafe 19 due to its slow service and unprofessional staff."

"Perfect little tea cottage, in the heart of the Chatsworth Estate at Edensor, which is a beautiful and very special little village. The staff could not have been more welcoming, we arrived early and they welcomed us in, out from the cold. Opens at 9.30am. We were shown to our table where we could wait in the warm whilst the team set up. Beautiful quirky building, with lots of character with some old traditional features. Lovely friendly staff, the food and service was fabulous. We couldn't fault a thing. I had one of the vegan options, and it was delicious, the rest of the party were just as thrilled with their choices and the service. I noticed some 1 star reviews and these are all mainly due to waiting at busy times, so really not deserved in my opinion! Faultless 10 out of 10 for a perfect service. Thank you to all the staff at Edensor, it was our first visit and we would highly recommend, and return if we were in the area."

"Went for lunch today and what a disappointment. When we arrived the whole place was empty, this had me worried as a busy restaurant is always a good sign of happy customers. We asked for the roast lunch menu and were promptly told the roast meats were just Gammon and Beef. We both ordered the beef, what a mistake, it was so tough we both had a job to eat it. The vegetables were pretty average as well. I paid the bill on my bank card on the way out, not really paying enough attention as I swiped my card. We had stopped at the local M S on the way home when my wife asked me how much the meal was. When I told her it was £43.10 she thought it didn't sound right for two roast lunches and two small lagers. I went back to the restaurant and explained the problem was promptly given £5.60 refund. The young female staff are obviously not concentrating on their job. It used to be a really good restaurant for roast lunches, not any more, avoid it."

"visited in October 2021 and gave him 5*. after the latest visit. see update now a 3*. utterly fabulous fish chip shop. we were in bradwell village, derbyshire for a week and after the first visit in the chip shop we could not resist getting back at any opportunity. during the second week of our holiday, in another opposite. we returned to the village and of course, the chip shop. we missed it. each time the chips were; fluffy, crispy and super delicious. So for a second. the staff was friendly, eating was always amazing and the price was also very good. they also decorated for halloween. we recommend fishcakes, scallop, sausage in batter, curry sauce and gravy. do not forget the chips. @starnoldtravels"

"Annual wedding anniversary trip a great location, and clearly, there's been major investment on the interior. It's a shame the same investment hasn't been made to the caravan site, which is scruffy, a little dirty, and in real need of refurbishment. In general terms the staff were great apart from the girl that checked us in I requested a pitch closer to the shower block, only to be told that the site was fully booked the site clearly wasn't fully booked all weekend, and our request could easily have been granted poor and unacomodating customer service skills. A real shame as our stay was otherwise brilliant, having great walks to Chatsworth and Bakewell, and having a pub/restaurant on site is great."

"Absolutely great experience we stayed last night in our camper van in their car park. I emailed a couple of weeks ago to check it was ok to park overnight we are Brit stops members) I also booked a table for us including our dog, I received a lovely email acknowledging our requests and confirming booking great start. We had a long wet walk in the morning and arrived around 3pm and parked up in their large flat car park, there is a lovely beer garden which would be lovely on a sunny day. The pub itself is modern and clean with a real fire which we managed to get a table next to in an attempt to try and dry ourselves and our wet dog, we asked if we could have that table for the duration if it wasn’t already booked this was sorted for us straight away. The landlady was really nice and super dog friendly she even gave us a lovely big soft dog bed for our tired wet mutt along with dog treats and a water bowl these are the small things that make people come back over and over again. The food menu is very good, lots of traditional pub food but with the addition of some interesting Indian curries, the landlady’s son in law is the chef. We both had Lamb Nihari which came with fresh indian bread 2) rice and a fresh salad absolutely delicious we did notice that the majority of other dinners also had this option) the lamb was so tasty and tender I will be having this again when we go back!! The pub was pretty quiet but it was a wet wednesday evening in February so we didn’t expect it to be busy. After a few beers we retired to our van lovely little grass area at the bottom of the car park perfect for a quick dog toilet visit before bed there is a large field opposite the pub which is perfect for a longer dog walk it has 2 entrances both with dog poop bins. We all slept wonderfully it’s on a very quiet road. There is B&B accommodation in the pub as well. My 1 very small niggle is the chairs throughout the pub are lovely solid wooden ones but are quiet hard on an old tired bum especially as we were there quite a few hours like I say it really isn’t a criticism just an observation. The Okeover arms has now moved to the top of our Brit Stops pub list. Thank you"

"I had been having troubles with my car so we pulled in where we could to park to allow my car to rest. It was badly overheating very quickly and needed to cool down. I originally went in to ask for permission to park overnight as it was unsafe to drive my car, and was greeted by very helpful staff and owners who went out of their way to help us, even offering to drop us off home in their personal vehicles. They got us some water to refill my engine coolant so it could cool down and had no problems with helping us. We decided to then stay and have a drink, we both had a Mocha which was brilliant, nicer than branded coffee shops, so much so that if I wasn’t stressed about my car, I could’ve quite easily had a few."

Thought I'd have enough time as we went in at 1.50 and needed to meet coach at 3.30. Our meals arrived on table at 2.45 after asking twice Must say table cleared super fast only just put my knife and fork down and my plate was gone shame nice pub but service in kitchen needs great improvement I feel I know what I'm talking about as I work in hospitality my self"
