"Love this stylish little cafe! Amazing home cooked food, polite friendly staff and a really relaxed atmosphere. The moussaka I had was the best I have ever had, can't wait to go back for more! Highly recommended. Just as an extra little bonus I couldn't help but notice the stunning prints for sale on the walls, all at very reasonable prices I might add. "I just dropped in on my way home and decided to try the food with the new owners in place, now they are serving until 8pm. Went for the bacon cheeseburger and was not disappointed. Plenty of fresh salad and home cooked chips like my gran used to make to accompany a tasty fully loaded pattie. All washed down with local ales . Will definitely be sampling more when the new menu lands soon."

"Family meal out for Mother’s Day was top notch. Proper home cooked roast and 1 vegetarian meal and nothing was to much problem. We asked for extra gravy and a condiment and got it straight away. All veg was fresh . Roasters as well as new potatoes. Everyone for stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. We even got a high chair for the baby who didn’t order anything! (Broccoli and peas and a bit of carrot was good enough to share with him great food and service! Thanks."

"Food was fine as usual service though was awful. Were not offered the usual bread olive dip to start that other tables got and have had before. Were not even offered dessert or menus for desert . Staff were generally sullen. Had to pay at bar as waited too long after i asked for bill. Worst of all when i was asked how was the meal when i paid i politely gave my opinion as above the rather precocious girl with an attitude offered no apology and just said that they were very busy and did not have staff . I remarked that i had been there since 7 pm and the restaurant was mostly empty so did not get the ‘busy’ bit she again no apology) just repeated they were busy and did not have staff. All she had to do was apologise and i would have felt slightly better about the whole experience. Not returning again"

"I and my fiancée visited ask tonight to celebrate our 5 years jubilee after we shared our first date here, we thought it would be nice to think new as we were the first time for a few years. the service we received was the second on none, we were greeted with smiles and excellent hospitality. the eating was nice (additions to the chefs! we would ask hereford get to everyone and will definitely visit regularly! we would like to thank you especially for chloe and simon (and the rest of the staff that made our evening special. this is an evening that we will appreciate for many years. wish you all a merry christmas x x"

"The food was ok on the whole, but the squid in my seafood pasta was very rubbery and not really edible and the tomatoes in the starter were under ripe. However, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the wine snd the evening on the whole. However, once...we’d paid the bill, we sat finishing our wine. About minutes later, a waitress came over and simply said, ‘I need this table in a few minutes.’ I was quite shocked. We put on our coats and left hurriedly, saying to the waitress on my way out that I thought she’d been very rude. I’ve messaged the restaurant but had no reply. So this is to save other people from similar disappointment,"

"from the minute we went into the door, it was like a clockwork. we were greeted at the reception. our booking was checked and we were shown in the room. the room was brilliantly very clean and warm. the breakfast was very nice a lot of choice. all freshly cooked to order. this is our second visit. the staff was very efficient. we will return."

"Been twice before and was singing its praises. Took another couple there to experience it. Luckily for me the menu had not changed great I thought. I will have exactly what I had 2 weeks ago. Ordered whitebait again and so did my companion, tasted great but we must have shared a portion this time. Oh the special lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes still on looking forward to that. Service very slow had to ask when was the food coming, when it did turn up the potatoes where boiled and some lamb flakes had been pressed into a circular shaped ring. we were not late diners but it felt like I had the last of the bits). It tasted Ok but what a disappointment over the last visit. From my first visit on the desert menu the crepes are not crepes be warned. Numerouse great food outlets in and around Ross so I 'll be going to them next Friday."

"The meal was excellent. I had the belly pork and crab starter followed by the fillet for my main course. The bottle of Chianti was also quite good. The service was a bit slow as they never returned to take our wine order. We had to ask for a steak knife and waited about 20 minutes after finishing our main course for our plates to be cleared. Despite these small issues, the meal itself was truly fantastic."

"I visited for an evening meal with 17 other women, unfortunately it had only been booked for 17. I had ordered roast beef was the last to be served to be told there was no more. ? (I suspect pre packed roast dinners.. . The lady in charge then stood in the middle of the room bemoaning the fact that the numbers were wrong; she made me feel as if it were my fault and was quite unhelpful. She said did I want fish and chips? Or cottage pie? Eventually brought a menu (suspiciously large and I chose sirloin. At which point she said I would have to pay more for that! Of course when the food was brought out most of the others had finished their meal. The meat was gristly and I left most of it. (my friend had a doggy bag for her dog and that is where it went to When I went to pay she didn't charge extra for the sirloin which was just as well. I have given one star for service, I may say the other girls serving were fine. The food, may be one star as well I am afraid. We are all locals, and this pub will not be getting our support again."

"I went to this restaurant last night. The food was left under a hotplate for too long, the coleslaw was warm, and the chips were cold. My partner ordered steak, which was overcooked and dry with cold chips again. Our waitress was lovely, so we left her a tip. There seemed to be a shortage of staff, and when I asked to speak to the manager, he seemed to be avoiding us. I had to confront him before he came over to our table. He was charming and admitted that he wouldn't have paid for the food we were served. He offered a brief apology and only charged us for the drinks. We won't be returning any time soon, which is a shame."

"We visited this restaurant 4 times in a few weeks during November and December 2021. The first time was pretty good, the second time we took friends so there were 6 of us, that too was pretty good. The 3rd time things started to slide,...the ingredients in the main courses was very poor and we had to send food back. The last time was the worst, the food was shocking, the table was dirty, the seats had oil and old food on them, when we complained they took 2 of the mains back and gave us a different dish, which was inedible. We paid for all starters, drinks and 2 mains, yet they still tried to charge us for the inedible food, which I refused to pay for. This is a shame, because we had good times there previously and paid hundreds of pounds to them. But we did not even get an apology. Well if they can afford to lose good customers in this current market, best of luck to them. This is just one of the Bill's for 4 people."

"I see that Graham has responded to my fiancées review with factually incorrect information. The Police report will confirm that, his Staff -just the deputy manager- I might add was rude and abusive to my fiancée! This is what started the cuffufle! Immediately the 2 young waiting staff run out to the garden to apologise for the short/grey haired, deputy managers conduct. He is rude and aggressive, mainly to women! Both the young members of staff were scared for their jobs as the owner and the lazy deputy manager are both aggressive. Read the reviews from elderly women and elderly couples who have been thrown off the premises for a minor complaint about service. One couple had been going for over 20 years. I won’t tolerate this conduct to my fiancée and yes the Police were called but again Graham seem to like to lie as well! We did not refuse to pay for anything, our dogs were not running wild at all, in fact there were many cyclists who were petting and playing with our dogs in the garden. Following us going to another peaceful night at an alternative hotel I got a no caller ID call the next morning and it was Graham, very bold over the phone throwing out more abuse! Everyone needs to read all the reviews on Google and trip adviser etc to get a measure of Graham and his deputy manager. Both abusive cowards who think they will keep getting away with their conduct! Their slogan is “if you have something to say then go elsewhere”! Tells you everything you need to know! I think Graham has some frustration that he has to run Mummy and Daddies business as he seems to have a lot of pent up anger and aggression! AVOID this place"

"I believe in supporting small businesses, but I was disappointed with the experience at this restaurant. My daughter received a voucher for afternoon tea, but we realized it was only valid for 6 months. When we called to extend it, we were told that they were closed for 3 weeks of the month they offered for the extension. The response we received was that prices had gone up and they couldn't extend the voucher. I also bought a voucher for my sister-in-law, who asked for an extension and was denied. While the sandwiches were good, the rest of the food was not impressive. Despite the friendly staff, I will not be recommending this restaurant anymore to my brother's bed and breakfast. The 6-month gift voucher policy is inflexible and lacks grace."

"We had a great experience at this restaurant, which is located by the river on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was clean, and we chose to sit outside. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast bowl and my daughter had the French toast with chocolate and a crispy crumb topping. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, but we had to wait nearly half an hour for our food. The presentation was nice, but my daughter found a long hair on her French toast and my fried egg was overcooked and the toast was cold. It was disappointing, as a perfectly cooked egg yolk over avocado and mushrooms with delicious sun-dried tomatoes could have been perfect. These small issues aside, if the restaurant could improve on these details, it would be exceptional."

"We read on line that they were open until on Fridays and Saturday. So we turned up at on a Friday evening to be told they were closing at so we’re only serving take aways!! Really not impressed as our room in...our weekend accommodation was not set up to dine in. We felt we had no other choice so ordered our meals I asked for extra containers so we could mix our meals in them. I asked for two plastic forks too. The waiter agreed to this but as leaving I checked and they were not in the bag. Fortunately I was able to remind him ! And he rather ungraciously put them. I also asked for extra sauce with my biriani but I didn’t get that either. Tbh the food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. But the attitude of the staff with their we’ll close when we feel like it philosophy is not acceptable."

"Sunshine outside after a little rain in Hereford town centre's main square. Now the old square after new shopping centre expanded the town centre several years ago. Coffee #1 was a family concern. I have an App for it and after helpful service managed to buy two strong tasting Americano coffees. Very strong but nothing like Turkish coffee or Moroccan coffee available off the Portobello Road. I had my partner with me, we shared conversation, thought and time. An enjoyable visit. A padded back and seat and occasional armchairs, standard French café furniture making for a cosy stay and pleasant relaxing atmosphere. I've visited this outlet many times, I'll be there again. My only critique is that sometimes coffee is lukewarm and the prices seem slightly too high. Other than that, a reasonable stop off whilst shopping."

"Stopped here on the way to greenman festival as my wife was visiting friends in the village. Oh, what a magnificent country pub it was. It was a friendly characterful local just the sort anyone would wish to live near. Went for the homemade fish finger sandwich which was a taste sensation. After paying, we had the pleasure of meeting Alfie and Phil who wished us a good weekend, a good life. It was all over too soon with a fist pump and we were on the road again. Wish to be visiting this place again soon."

"Returning to this restaurant was a huge mistake. I have to give it one star, but honestly, it doesn't even deserve that. My friend and I visited a few weeks ago, but there was no food available due to staff shortages. The woman serving us was unfriendly, but we thought it was just the situation. We decided to give it another try for lunch today. When I asked if there was a vegan option, the response was simply "No," with no apology. After some discussion, the same woman suggested the Greek Wrap without Feta. We ordered coffee as well, and when it arrived, the cups were in poor condition. There was a chip on one and a cracked glaze on the other. When our wraps arrived, my friend's came with a side of crisps, but mine did not. I was informed that the crisps were not vegan, only vegetarian, and could have come into contact with milk. Despite explaining that it was a preference and not an allergy, I was still given crisps. I noticed halfway through our meal that my friend had green olives, which my wrap was missing. Despite having fewer ingredients, I was still charged £8.95 with no offer of a reduction or additional toppings. The coffee mugs were also stained and dirty. When I mentioned the missing olives to the owner, she explained that they come with the feta cheese. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated earlier. As we were browsing in the gift shop next door, the cafe owner accused us of not paying for our meal, causing a very embarrassing situation. When we went back to confirm payment, the owner only offered a half-hearted apology. I also mentioned the state of the cups and the lack of ingredients in my wrap, but was called rude by the cafe owner. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and we will not be returning."
