"when we arrived, there was a 15 min waiting for a table for 4 people. that in my head was a good thing, and what can I say, but I was right. I go out for dinner and give a 5-star rating without being a bit generous, but in this case I don't have to be generous. this is really a 5-star evaluation site. the price is reasonable and this is reflected in the size of the drank. large but not too large and very fillable. the selection was good overall for lunch and tea and coffee selection was then expected to be bigger. simply note that no alcohol is served here, but is not needed, as the environment is excellent and the ethos of the caffe supports. eating was great and the selection of meat and vegan food was good. the face of the children on the sight of the child afternoon was one of the excitement, especially when you see the size of the cake. the burgerpatties were thin, but wide, homemade, like all food, cooked in a juicy juicy condition. the nuggets were diceed chicken pieces so quality from the beginning, batter was slightly spiced and cooked for perfection. not greasy or soggy or too much for the meat. best nuggets I've ever had. if they like cake and coffee, this is also the place for them with the sizes of the cake portions they will take a few home, and it is worth it. as they can say, we really enjoyed eating and put in a place that is modern with a classic touch that I felt relaxed and that eating fits the venue."

"Date of dining 11.07.23 I’ve been here a couple of times and I have to admit I’m not a fan, I’ve always found the food to be tasteless. However I had an all4one voucher given to me by my employer, we chose to give wagamamas another try as it had been a couple of years since we’d visited in the past. The bill came to just a little over £50, again disappointed with the tasteless food but hey it was a free meal (or so we thought) so it didn’t bother us, it was just nice to get out. Upon paying the bill we were served by the manager who told us quite frankly that the card would not work, that they have loads of problems with them and it’s always happening. She scanned it twice on my request and she was right, it didn’t work. I asked her why she was allowing customers to dine at the restaurant without pre warning about these cards either via their social media platforms or by giving customers the common decency to let us know before we ordered just incase, to save people having the misfortune like myself of going out for what would be believed to be a free meal to then having to pay for it especially if they couldn’t afford it, and her reply was”oh yeah that’s a good idea I never thought of that”. After a couple of minutes of expressing my annoyance her speaking to her manager, I was still told I’d have to pay the balance. So now I’ve come to check the card the next day and it appears I’ve paid not just once with my own money, but twice as they’ve cleared the £50 balance which was on the card. To me, wagamamas are pulling the wool over their customers eyes. This could have easily been avoided."

"Ruined Valentine Evening... Visiting Lincoln, my wife and I booked this restaurant looking for something special. Reviews and menu and interaction beforehand all pointed to a good choice. The sharing starter was not as expected nor as described on the menu. Cheese sharing sharer with bread rolls celery and apple . It came with the celery and apple which had gone brown and Le Rustique camembert £3 from Tesco still in its wooden box and cloth wrapper and Le Rustique sticker . Bread rolls were four Jacobs Cream Crackers... ? . Not a bread roll in sight. We had to remind staff to bring our ordered bottle of wine, after it had been sitting on the bar for about 20 mins. It seems staff weren 't assigned to tables so you were always dealing with different staff and also having to attract their attention to get anything . Things went exceptionally south when the main course arrived. Rack lamb for me; at best it was far from being cooked my description of uncooked was not an exaggeration, and not challenged by the manager . It was tepid, the edge fat was un rendered, and the meat was fully pink/red in the middle some very slight colour around the edge. This was NOT rare or cooked to the point , it was uncooked. Chicken and lobster pappardelle for my wife; the pasta was seriously overcooked and we had to hunt for any lobster one rubbery piece was found . The only saving grace was that there was no argument from the manager that the service was unacceptable. We agreed to pay for our drinks and left but even then the final bill was far from being understandable in terms of the amounts and the way the deposit was refunded . It was clear that others in the restaurant that night were having the same issues with a least two other couples leaving early with the manager again apologizing. One can only hope that there were staffing problems in the kitchen, and I do understand that Valentine 's evening is kind of off season , but this is as far as I can remember, the worst dining experience I have had. Service staff, the last port of call to the customer, should never have been asked to serve what was served perhaps inexperience could be at play, but nonetheless this seems to be a hotel restaurant which knows what it is doing going by past reviews. I hope that they manage to work through these issues and get back to the level of service that previous reviews have indicated. For my part from our experience I cannot, in any way, recommend this restaurant."

"Visited for lunch. The menu looked promising however unfortunately that promise was unfulfilled. I ordered Nachos for a shared starter and a Chicken ‘Sizzler’(otherwise known as Fajitas). Possibly two of the easiest dishes to prepare that have ever found their way onto a pub menu. Bad choice I’m not sure how it is possible to get nachos wrong but they managed it here. Perhaps it was the way that the chips, cheese AND the Salsa were thrown together and then nuked, I suspect in a microwave but possibly they did use the oven. Result soggy chips and a sloppy mess served without any Guacomole because they had run out but the kitchen did not tell the server so no apology. Next the Chicken Sizzler. Now I’m not a chef but I know this dish is normally cooked by griddling the chopped veg until they are just cooked, sometimes slightly charred. I’m not sure the veg in this dish ever went anywhere near a griddle or similar. My guess is that the was simply heated in a microwave and then topped with microwaved chicken pieces that had been supplied pre cooked complete with ‘fake’ char grill lines. To be fair the chicken was OK but the veg was limp, tasteless and was served swimming in an oily, watery liquid (see photo). How is it possible to make such a mess of what is a simple dish? I was later told that the peppers are supplied pre sliced; maybe knives are not allowed in that kitchen, I suspect the disgusting liquid they were served in was in the plastic bag they were delivered in. Quite frankly the Nachos and the Sizzler were the worst examples of these dishes I have ever been served with. My Mum’s scampi and chips looked OK but the Scampi was absolutely scolding inside .. I suspect the good old microwave may have been pushed into action again. Good points, at least it was open on a Monday lunchtime, my Latte was OK, and the staff were all friendly. We won’t however be going back."
