"After a long drive to Bath and struggling to find parking in the center, we were very hungry. However, our day turned around when we stumbled upon this lovely little pub. We were all very happy with our food and the service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and attentive, especially to our child. We will definitely be coming back. I started with the creamy tarragon sauce mushrooms on garlic ciabatta, which was absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were also fantastic - the fish was freshly filleted and the batter was homemade. For dessert, I had the fruit bread and butter pudding with homemade custard, which was a delight. My partner had salt and pepper prawns and squid, as well as a homemade beef burger, all of which he enjoyed. Our child had scampi and liked it as well. The bill came to £77, including drinks, which was a bit more than we usually spend, but it was worth it for the quality of the food and service. We regret not taking pictures of our food as we were too eager to eat it all. Can't wait to come back and thank the staff again for a wonderful meal."

"Came here with my family when visiting Shepton Mallet for breakfast and it was the best Full English I have ever had.. my wife had the scrambled eggs which was also excellent. We also decided to return a few days later for Lunch. It was very busy and I can see why. Staff were lovely.. we were assisted by Lucy who was extremely kind and helpful, and great with our children (and another kind young lady.. but I cannot recall her name). Thank you, we will hopefully be able to return soon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Decor nice and friendly staff. Menu was varied and tempted us to book a table. However, the food was very disappointing. I didn’t want to complain at the time S I was with guests but my food was expensive and not worth the money. I had the roast turkey lunch. The turkey was obviously not carved from a turkey but resembled school dinners with three thin, watery slides all identical in size. There was half a carrot, a teaspoon of red cabbage, three sprouts, three pale and tasteless roast potatoes, a ‘slice’ of tasteless stuffing and watery tasteless gravy. The chipsta sausage was wrapped in undercooked fatty bacon and sausage pale and undercooked. All in all not good. My friends were not that impressed with their food either. We won’t be going back. This pub has the potential to be really good but a new chef is needed! Sorry but this is honest feedback."

"Interesting. Nice restaurant, good atmosphere. Good poppadoms and pickles. I ordered the sag paneer as a main course with pilao rice. Rice was a bit bland, the curry was made with cream and underspiced. Very bland and disappointing. However, my wife had a daal with naan bread; the daal was very good, well spiced excellent texture. Good naan. I also ordered a roti which was good. So overall a mixed experience. It was a popular place, very busy for a Sunday evening so either my meal was an anomaly or just isn't the right thing to order at this restaurant. "Oh my goodness what a fantastic find. Today we happened across this cafe Wow. First thing that impressed was the hard working, helpful and friendly staff. On entering, Every table was full (having tasted the salad, burgers, cakes we are not surprised) but Debbie did her utmost to not disappoint us by turning us away and within a couple of minutes had us seated comfortably with menus in hand and drinks ordered. Service throughout our meal was super, friendly, efficient. The salads /savoury plates were the best we have had for years. The coffee was delicious and the cake selection was interesting and different. Thank you we will be back very soon"

"Possibly one of the worst takeaway dinners I have ever had. The chicken dish had a very odd texture, almost like reformed meat. Tilapia with coconut milk was perhaps the best dish we had, though a very thick and greasy texture. The noodles were absolutely disgusting, a congealed mass of sticky carbohydrate, completely unseasoned, with a sauce, mercifully served separately, of a handful of vegetables in a thin watery liquid, totally unseasoned. Very abrupt and rude on the phone when I called to order. Never again!"

"What a pleasant pub, we stopped off for Sunday lunch with our dog and did not have a table, booked. We were greeted with a smile and it was no problem whatsoever to squeeze us in, we were made to feel welcome from the start....We were seated in the front bar which was a lovely setting. The Sunday lunch was absolutely lovely, we are both gluten free and they made special Yorkshire’s and stuffing for us. Our dog was made welcome and soon settled into the corner. Great drinks, great food and superb value, all topped with a father and daughter team who have the place running like clockwork. Well done to you both and thanks for getting us in with no notice. Top marks all around."

"2 pm booking on a Sunday for 7 people inc two small children. Put Upstairs in a far corner table service poor and slow 30 minutes to get a first drink, had to ask for missing cutlery 3 times, similarly 3 times to get a jug of water. 40 minutes before we were able to order. 10 minutes after that we were advised ‘no beef left’ so 4 of us had to re choose. No beef at Sunday Lunch? After main course we left had been there just over 2 hours. On way down stairs, after paying, we were then asked if we wanted pudding.… Advice book for earlier and get a table downstairs where more staff are situated. Food whe it came was good be patient."

"This cafe/restaurant was very nice place to eat and drink. They were very busy and the two young ladies were rushed off there feet. We ordered cappuccinos to start, then we ordered food the weather was lovely so we sat outside. We had bacon...brie and cranberry baguette with salad and prawn with Mary Rose sauce with salad they looked and tasted very nice. The toilets were also very clean when paying we gave the lady that had served us a tip as well for being so hospitable when we are back in the area we will definitely eat and drink here again as we are not local to the area, all they way from the Isle of wight"

"Being a fan of fish and chips for as long as I can remember, I have to say that Whitstones fish and chips at Radstock is superb. I’ve recently been on holiday on the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset and I always ask the locals where the best chippie is however none of them stack up to my local Whitstones. Sometimes it’s the fish that lets these shops down, sometimes the batter and sometimes the chips but not Whitstones, it’s absolutely the best. If you’re in the Radstock area and you like fish and chips like me give it a go, you won’t regret it."

"Whenever we visit our daughter in Frome, we make sure to stop by this cafe almost every day. We absolutely love the coffee, food, ambiance, and the friendly staff. Despite coming all the way from Peterborough, we always make a special effort to visit this cafe whenever we can. As a gluten-free individual, I appreciate their delicious almond cake and fruit slice. We even bring our grandchildren there for a delightful brunch. Overall, it's a wonderful experience every time we go, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!"

"We went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch last weekend. The owner greeted us warmly and we had a nice chat with him. We were seated at a table in the bar and ordered two roast beef lunches. While we waited, we enjoyed a glass of wine and a delicious local ale. The meals were fantastic - the beef was flavorful and tender, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and everything was served hot. We also each had a dessert, which was homemade and very tasty. We left feeling very full as the portions were quite generous. The pub was bustling with a friendly vibe. This restaurant is known for its excellent home-cooked food, reasonable prices, and laid-back atmosphere. It is highly recommended to make a reservation for Sunday lunches."

"My only criticism is that everything was way too nice, people included. You have made all other cafes/restaurants look bad, I did not want to leave. Thanks for all the wonderful food and friendly service, we will definitely be back!"

"We had a works xmas meal here on 2nd dec. The pub was so warm and welcoming with a real festive feel to it. The tree, decorations and tables looked so pretty. Tne food was fantastic and so reasonable at £19.95 for the 3 course xmas menu plus coffee. The food was plentiful and piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meal there were 17 of us). The staff were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definately recommend this pub for its food, service and friendly atmosphere. "Fantastic gem of a cafe located in the old bank in the heart of Shepton! I knew from my first peek around the door I had to enter for an explore! From the fabulous recycled artwork on the walls to the mobile phone screens leading to the art exhibition, the whole place is a delightful and colourful feast for the eyes and really (if you are like me! gets your creative juices flowing! The tunes playing were a delightful mix of upbeat melodies without being too in your face! Friendly smiley staff and a wonderful selection of reasonably priced drinks (throughly recommend their oatmilk Orange hot chocolate! Will definitely be returning!"

"You know what, I'm actually really impressed by The Bell Inn The staff behind the bar and who brought our food out were really professional as well as friendly. My meal was perfect as well. I liked that it came with a mix of veg, it didn't feel too heavy. Others had lasagne and said it was delicious. A few people made the comment that some choices on the menu were also shown on the specials board, it would be better for The Bell Inn to only show their weekly dishes on the specials board instead. I'd be very happy to return."

"Started off well. Lovely old building, much more character on the inside than the outside suggests. Reminds me in a good way of how pubs used to be. Shame the woman running in was just downright rude. Seems to be a theme running through other reviews. The barmaid was lovely and friendly. The place was quite full with nowhere obvious to sit. There was an area with four tables with the lights off so I asked the barmaid if she could turn them on, and she happily agreed. Sat down at the table and a rude and unpleasant woman came over and told us we couldn 't sit there, they weren 't using the room tonight, and we 'd have to sit somewhere else. No smile, no apology, no pleasant words. As we 're walking out of the area confused wondering where the hell to sit, I said quite loudly care to suggest somewhere? and the woman turned back and said there 's a large table through there , directing us into a cramped back bar occupied by a group of locals who obviously weren 't happy at being intruded upon. My partner was really upset by this point so we ended up leaving our drinks and walking out. I 've drunk at all the local pubs on the back roads round here... The Knatchbull, The Bell, The Vobster, The Poacher 's, Strode Arms, The King 's Head, The Talbot... all fantastic pubs with warm, friendly staff and punters. Never found any of them less than pleasant and welcoming. Never had a problem in any of them. Never had reason not to wholeheartedly recommend any of them. The Wagon and Horses is a whole different story and I wouldn 't go back if you paid me."

"Found ourselves in Frome ahead of a concert and looking somewhere for some food/a sit down. We do quite like a 'lounge ' as all very easy going and does what it says on the tin. Bottom line, we were not disappointed here. Went in from a cold outside and it was warm and jolly vibrant. Seemed all the good folk of Frome were out in force. Great service and food. Despite the number of people the food arrived very promptly etc. So did the job. Always do find the lighting in these places a tad on the dim side. Maybe it 's just the 'effect ' (and a reflection on my age)."

"Love love loved this place. Sam was absolutely wonderful, very warm and welcoming, helpful and informative. We had dinner booked at the pub which was amazing. So fresh and tasty. Service was excellent, pub cosy and comfortable. We also stayed the night in one of their twin rooms which was very clean and tidy. With comfortable beds and everything you could want including WiFi, tv, hairdryer, private bathroom, toiletries, tea coffee hotchoc biscuits water and a view over the castle. I stayed with my friend for one night and we felt very welcome safe and at ease. I have already recommended it to friends and will be back again... Well done guys. Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. With robes, slippers towels., tea coffee, hot chocolate biscuits and water hairdryer tv and free WiFi. Etc... Nearby activities: Nunney castle free to visit. Local church. Longleat. Frome. Glastonbury Tor. Safety: Felt very safe and secure. Locks on doors, quiet slept village. Walkability: Nunney is a fairly level village and easy to get around. The George inn has some steps but nothing to difficult apart fromthe very top floor which are quite steep"

"I visited whilst on a Christmas trip out supporting a service user. The person lives in a care home where I work. The restaurant setting was lovely with room to walk to seats without disturbing other diners. Would not be as accessible for wheelchair users. The meals were delicious and service perfect. Unfortunately this ended when I came to pay the bill. I had not been informed that the venue was cashless. Payment would only be accepted by card. As the service users I support have learning difficulties they do not have access to bank cards. I explained this to the server who said I would have been told that it was card payment only when I arrived which hadn't been the case. I was able to pay by cash as authorised by the manager but would not be able to have any change. I left feeling very disappointed with Prezzo and will not be returning. The establishment cannot seem themselves as an inclusive dining establishment as there are plenty of service users whom cannot enjoy a meal at their restaurant due to being a cashless setting. It turned an enjoyable experience into an embarrassing one which left us paying more for our meals."
