The George At Nunney

Really nice pub sat outside and great ploughman’s lunch and cracking beer . Staff friendly and helpful well worth a visit and a walk around the castle.

Was there for a Christmas lunch. Whilst the meal was very tasty the plate was overloaded. It was difficult to know where to start on it. A 'doggie ' bag was provided. It would be good to have serving dishes. Place beautifully decorated for Christmas.

This has always been a favourite pub of ours for lunch, and the food remains very good. However, the menu suddenly feels extremely limited compared to what has been on offer over the past years. I'd like to know the rationale behind this if there is one.

A rather pretentious venue given the location in a very traditional English village with an 11th century castle opposite! Over priced food, poor service and un helpful bar staff. (Would not take my snack order without the chips, Such a pity as a lovely location.

I visited your pub today with a member I support who has learning difficulties. The 2 girls who served us were so lovely. Very friendly to us both understanding of my member's learning difficulties. Could not fault them at all and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend coming here and we will be back.

Perfect evening in this beautiful country pub for a gorgeous Christmas meal with dear friends. Our food was divine, the best nut roast I've ever had and the best beef for the others. All the vegetables you needed, potatoes, brocoli, carrots, red cabbages, creamy cheesy leek, Brussels sprouts. Amazing! We went times before and will be going for a long time to come

Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Comfortable room, even though it was the budget twin. Separate private bathroom close by. Good communication with discount for booking direct. Good pub food, the specials were excellent. Pretty village. We had a dog with us and they were great with him. He was allowed everywhere on a lead. Great walks nearby, we used crazy cabs as recommended by the George, to take us away from Nunney so we could walk back. They were brilliant too.

We stayed at The George in January, it was a quiet weekend , we had dinner Saturday and Sunday and stayed both nights in the Castle Room, the room was spacious, clean and had excellent amenities, not just a kettle but a coffee machine, mini fridge, water in room etc, lovely extra touches that are welcomed. The food was lovely, staff welcoming and the fire in the pub lovely to sit near whilst enjoying a drink. Our family joined us and stayed on Saturday and they liked their room as well, especially the bathroom which had a very spacious shower. All in all, great village pub with a very traditional feel, well worth booking .

This night was absolutely magical, petals on the table, candle light, secluded feeling, romance, and exceptional service. Our server Sam was an absolute delightful, fun, friendly, and helpful person. He was very polite, funny, and accommodating. He made us feel so beautifully welcome and connected with the place. He was intuitive and did not make us feel pressured into choosing. We were the last to leave, yet never made us feel like we were being rushed out. It felt like we could be there all night if we had wanted. He was even grateful for a tiny tip, as we were on a budget. I think he’s genuinely such a wonderful person and I hope this review can fill him with the same energy he gave us. T...
