Afternoon Tea At Macdonald Randolph

Excellent service. The warm and friendly staff and excellent pianist make this very pleasant place for afternoon tea.

It was a superb afternoon tea, an my friend and I enjoyed it very much. Fantastic food and fantastic service! We would really like to come back.

it was my birthday and I was on the way from New Zealand! the personal sang me to the birthday and presented me a few small cakes! very nice! I had sunk at the randolph in 2006 and it was still great.

We ordered sandwiches and wine and the food was excellent. Although the service was attentive the service was very slow so we had to rush in order to make the theatre. If you are not in a hurry this restaurant has great atmosphere.

we went there after a graduation party for the afternoon and it was absolutely perfect. excellent service without exaggerated and a good selection of sandwiches, scones and decadent and pampering cakes. the living room is elegant English as it is expected from a 5 star hotel. quiet and comfortable environment clear recommendation for a real afternoon tea. I was in Oxford for the weekend with some girlfriends and we treated ourselves to afternoon tea at the Randolph. The weather outside was cold and wet and a warm welcome was waiting in the drawing room. The food was good and plentiful with several top ups of the tea pots, friendly attentive staff, but not overly so. I understand that a pianist plays on Saturdays, this would have been a welcome addition as when we first arrived it was rather quiet. Molton Brown toiletries were available for use in the toilets. We all enjoyed and would recommend.

I have booked the drawing room for a special tasty bite for the 16th birthday of my daughter at her gran. we are all very enthusiastic on the afternoon tee and we were all quite disappointed by the food and then the cost. we often make tea/scones home. those served here were more cookies, then scone the sandwiches on brot much too thick, the cake to fussy. everyone loves a good lemon drizzle or light and fluffy victorious sponge. it's a shame that eating was poor, that it was too expensive. really not the traditonal afternoon tea experience we expected. we will not return.

I had made a reservation for 14.30 as the only other time available was 18.00, however, when I arrived there was only one other table occupied and this remained the case until 16.00 which made me mentally question the reservation system. That said, I arrived on time but my husband was half an hour late and this caused no problem. Once he arrived we ordered the cream tea but were served with the full tea. The waiter heard me querying what he had brought but quickly hurried away so that it would be difficult to change. It was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the food.
