"Last night of our holiday on Lake Constance. Again the question came, what and where should we go to eat. The shorts don't really want to go. W LAN, mobile phone and tablet make us completely unnecessary. Jo, food intake, that could be taken into account. But somehow you have no bump to open and a corresponding ... “Yes clear, then we will eat and then we’ll get you something out of the mosquito” “That would be cool” What was actually flaky and not really serious was quickly an essential option. “You don’t mean that seriously, do you?” That would be great” Teenies can be so easy. Or sooo difficult. Shortly seen in the eyes, Jepp, that would actually be an option. Is the evening a real victory situation? The no longer short shorts are happy with the laptop, tablet and WLAN and the old ones have a pleasant evening. “Okay, we’ll eat and get you something out of mosquito.” Rarely heard such a happy choir. Well, education does not take place on holiday, but at home the year is over. And vacation should be beautiful. Not that we had left this out since, but the view of a relaxed evening was good and also for happy children afterwards. “Hau rein” the hobby-gourmand would now say with a hill to manageable risks in the kitchen direction. And so the hobbyman went on his way with his wife. After Lindau in Enzisweiler there is a pizzeria on GG. It should be. Only there was nothing so far and wide to see. Of course, vineyards. And the app was innocent this time. Depending on the search there are some locals. Errors in the representation or position here at GG. Maybe we should have studied the address. But finally we had to pass the mosquito and so we drove straight to Lindau Island. The family car on the city wall ran into the city without a corresponding destination. There's no problem finding something. Instead of making the choice, it proves to be more demanding. In a German Italian Greek triangle, we have briefly changed and chose Hellas or the Acropolis as a representation of Greek cuisine. We entered the restaurant, were discovered shortly afterwards and welcomed also friendly. Our care table for two people led to a small guided tour through the angled and beautifully decorated guest area. The place was good for photos, but the light was rather not, so I ask you to forgive the slightly fuzzy recordings. Rather unfavorable was the location near the toilet door. Not that too much traffic prevailed, the house was about half filled at the time, but a somewhat unpleasant cleaner smell faded back and forth when the door was opened. On a wall, an oversized flat screen, on which a slideshow of Greek landscapes ran, was suspended. There was an ouzo in the neighboring table. Well, that's something for us now. In the hope of getting this on the house, we ordered a wheat beer 0.5l to 3.40 and a large specific 0.4l also up to 3.40. But the drinks were still missing. Yeah, maybe there's this for dinner. The cards were large, cartoned and unfortunately very remote representatives of their kind. This is an update. The contents were distributed over the typical appetizers and dishes that can also be found in Germany. From this we ordered the service woman who appeared more or less regularly in our area as an appetizer: Zaziki 3,90 and Pita 2,50 grilled Pepperoni 4,90 As main dish, Grandmateller 11,80 Gyros, grilled paprika with fresh cheese filling, foil potatoes, Zaziki and side salad. Gyros 14,60 with foil potatoes and side salad. After a pleasant time the appetizers came first, but not an ouzo? The grilled peperoni were of medium sharpness, neat and tasted good. Pita, on the other hand, was rather a global product that could not leave a lasting impression. The Zaziki. This, although beautifully exhausted, was largely without a wort. Now it would be an ouzo. On the other hand, the additional salad had been delivered surprisingly spicy with a beautiful vinegar oil dressing. Leaf salads were accompanied by tomatoes, cucumber slices and onions. The gyroscope on the grandma plate was simply so ok out of the wort, but unfortunately sometimes somewhat very thick cut. Due to the thickness, there were also more than enough soft lots in addition to beautifully crowned areas. No revelation. However, the film potatoes seemed completely in order, even for credentials, packed in foil. Similar to the baked gyro. The Metaxas sauce brought a little more pepp, but overall I ate it much better. We ordered the bill, now he'll have to be there. When this came back without HIM, we simply asked if there was no Ouzo. “Ah, would they like an ouzo on the house?” “Oh yes, that would be nice” You have to do everything yourself: The ambience is very beautiful, except too close to the toilet. The walls are often provided with clinkers or indicated columns for this purpose with the damped light. It's not every taste, I liked it. I can't say much about cleanliness. The toilets were not visited, we were neighbors and the damper light didn't let much catch. What we saw was clean. Of course, the situation must also be taken into account for the PLV. The food was nothing special, but not bad. All in all, I think it's still reasonable. And the ouzo tasted. Nevertheless, after a kitchen trip: the 2 – hardly again the alternatives have to be tested. And there are more than enough of it in Lindau"

Cute little Greek restaurant in Lindau; small but cozy and nice ambiance. This place gets busy and waiter will not have the time to seat guests so feel free...

Last-minute reservation but we got a nice, quiet table. The food and wine selection is generous. Both food and drink came promptly and were delicious. The service was friendly.

Selten so gutes griechisches Essen gegessen.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and came across this gem of a resturant. I can honestly say we enjoyed the best Greek food that we have ever had. Everything was top quality , through wonderful tasty starters, Incredbile main meal and outstanding dessert....To add nothing was to much trouble we asked for an extra portion of Prawns to come with our main meal, we we asked if we would like them in tomato sauce or garlic , we opted for Garlic, they were just the best full of flavour. In addtion wonderful wine. The service was next to none, the atmosphere wonderful and food outstanding. Every customer was treated well , which you know it means they care about the service they are delivering....

"We found Villino by chance on our way from Germany to Italy......and what a find that was. In order to cut our long drive in half we decided to make a stop for the night in Lindau. The Hotel is located on a little hill...and the drive goes up a narrow road. First we thought we made a wrong turn...but then the Villino (small Villa) appeared. Ample parking and a very inviting lobby gave us already a fantastic impression. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. The room was small and cozy...but it was the last one available since they were fully booked. The room, bath, bed, view....everything top notch. My wife Monika and I were tired from the drive and therefore decided not to drive into town for dinner. Please keep in mind that we choose the Villino for the hotel and NOT for their restaurant. We stumbled into the restaurant not knowing what a gourmet temple it was. We found out that is was a Top listed restaurant in Germany and the cream of the crop. Boy oh boy what treat it was. The tasting menu was not inexpensive but worth every penny. EVERYTHING was perfect and too much to list. My wife and I constantly looked at eachother and could not believe what was happening to us: We were in seventh heaven. The best dinner we had EVER !!! We went to bed and had very pleasant dreams. We thought dinner was perfect and could not be topped.......but then we had breakfast outside in their courtyard. OMG what a wonderful breakfast. NO we should not call that a breakfast, it was more like a DREAM. Everything fresh, cooked, whipped or made to order. Everything tasted fantastic and we did not wanted to leave. LOL If you ever pass thru Lindau or the Bodensee area you MUST stay here or at least eat there. You owe it to yourself."

"The Old Post is a bit from the Rummel. Restaurant and hotel in one, but we only ate. Circa 15 cozy walk from the port of Lindau you have to go there. Many tables are decorated in front of the corner house with sturdy chairs. Inside it is also sturdy and traditionally decorated. You're sitting in a quiet area with a car traffic, but it doesn't matter to you. The advantage for car drivers is, of course, that the parking spaces are opposite. We reserved 6:00, there's something going on. Reservation is highly recommended! For us (12 people), the prepared table is still spontaneously extended by a small table so that we do not sit too tight. Then we will be supplied with cards, food and drinks separated. Above is the sausage salad, there are cakes, ice cream, soups, salads, noodles, meat, mules and sausage. So really a great deal, for every tour. The dishes are available in sizes normal and slightly smaller. If you say nix, there is the normal part. This portion size is also sufficient for normal hunger. I was a little experimental tonight and ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with pommes and salad. As a drink a regional beer: Lindauer Hell; delicious. Half for 4 euros. The operation took everything fleeting and well-launated, very neat on a big note with a line list. First the salads came, from size okay. After a waiting period, the main courts came. Only one had to be asked (baked turkey carving). I guess the kitchen was a little slower or the service missed it while picking up. Two medium-sized Wiener Schnitzel with good charge Pommes. Majo and ketchup are available on additional plates in small portion bags. Okay, cost 14.60 euros, normal in Lindau. For the ladies there was Ladysteak, 150 g turkey breast for 14.50 euros. For others a grill plate, steaks of beef, pig, turkey for 16.50 euros. Everyone was happy, nobody complained about food. There was room for Dessert. Vanilla ice cream with rumpot fruit and cream. But still find something to try. The ice part comes in a heart-shaped shell, the rum fruits extra. To gradually spoons. Rum was not saved, strong mix for 7.60 euros. Taste. We didn't regret the visit, we were looking good. The prices are of course higher because of a small piece."

"According my friend who grew up in the area, Mangold (translates to Chard) is a restaurant that has been around for a long time and is timelessly classic. Having lived around the world for most of his life he's moved back to his home country to run the hotel that's been there 8 generations in his family. So on my last night in town he took me over the Alps to get to where his family has been eating for a while. You never know what to expect when towns and villages change constantly going over various terrain and then coming towards Lake Constance. After sitting down to what is a fairly elegant dining room, I noticed people were dressed fairly casually, so I didnt feel too out of place. Of course I let my friend order everything as my Austrian is pretty non existent. The menu went as follows: -colorful spring salad with fried sweetbreads, radish and green asparagus -Appetizer of tuna with radish and goat cheese -Soup with semolina stuffed dumplings -Char with potatoes, onions and asparagus -Tuna steak with tortellini and spinach -Fried brioche with rhubarb and vanilla When you speak of regionality in cooking, it doesn't get much more unique than here. Being by the lake and having all the resource of the Bregenz forest and Alps is outstanding. I've not had food like it and maybe won't again until I return to the area. Not even in other parts of Austria will the food be like this. It's always great to have locals with great food knowledge. We came on the late side for a weeknight and basically closed the place down. Our server was really nice even with my dirty Northern American presence. It is always a wonder to see the food of new cultures and my friend's favorite was favorite for a reason. If it's always been this good, my friends family ate well."
