Baccano - Piatti

We were in Rome, walking by the fountain of Trevi and found Baccano. The menu has oysters, salads, lobster, veal and burgers, something for everyone! I love the cool vibe, with lounge music playing in the background. The service was good too! Check it out if you're in Rome!

Service was spectacular. It's a wonderful location where you can dine inside or street side. They have a good wine selections and the usual Italian food. But they also have fish and seafood as well as selection of oysters. It's not a cheap cafe but a dining experience I recommend.

Ohhh what to say here. First of all we had the best Rigatoni Carbonara in Rome and in Life. The service and the dining Al fresco was great. We had met the Chef off premises and also this ristorante had been highly recommended particularly for their Carbonara so we decided to try it. Fanfriggintastic, it is the BEST EVER! This should be a Do Not Miss status, when in Rome eat here!!!

This was one of the better if not best restaurants we visited in Europe thus far in my travels. This restaurant has a market feel to it but yet it intertwines itself in a holistic presentation. What I mean is that it has excellence in fish, meat, pastas, and so forth. Pictured above is oysters, steak, lasagna, cured salami and wine. Yes, this was just for a duo. There must be something in the water (fountain of Trevi) that made us so indulgent--just a stones throw away.

The pastas were delicious! This place was a great introduction to Roma. After seeing the Trevi fountain, we chose this spot to have dinner and we're seated at the last remaining outside table in one of the less appealing outside areas of the l restaurant. Make sure to keep you bags toward the restaurant side and not by the street side so no passing people can pick pocket or steak what you have. The hostess made sure to remind us as we were being seated. DO get the carbonara. I'm no expert but I can tell you it tasted delicious, and the way the pig was cooked in thick little crunchy salt fat bites was perfection. Non capisco perché questo posto abbia solo 3,5 stelle, ma vivo nella capitale della pizza degli Stati Uniti e sono italiano, quindi so cosa sia il buon cibo italiano. Da quando sono arrivato in Italia cinque giorni fa, non sono rimasto colpito dalla cucina. Finalmente ho trovato questo locale e le mie aspettative sono state finalmente rispettate. Abbiamo provato il cacio e pepe e i rigatoni alla carbonara, e entrambi erano i migliori che abbiamo mai assaggiato, anche migliori dei nostri. Non abbiamo preso antipasti, quindi non posso esprimere un giudizio su quelli. Abbiamo degustato anche la ruota di ciambelle per dessert, che era altrettanto meravigliosa. Mmmm... no, no Baccano. Per coloro che attribuiscono le recensioni sul servizio al fatto di essere americani, permettetemi di offrire un altro punto di vista... Non mi dispiace essere lasciato da solo, è in realtà un gesto saggio da parte di un cameriere, MA... chiedere acqua, ordinare un cocktail e non riceverlo affatto? Dopo aver aspettato 10-25 minuti? Questo è un pessimo servizio clienti, NON IMPORTA dove si sta mangiando. A loro merito, il servizio era iniziato meravigliosamente. Vorrei ringraziare di cuore le hostess... c'erano due bellissime signore che accoglievano i clienti. Ci hanno fatto sedere immediatamente. A causa del servizio deludente, ci hanno dato uno sconto di 10,00 €. Gr...

The ambiance felt more French than Italian, but it was lovely. Dark wood. Deep reds. Low light. It made me want to eat red meat and ravage an Italian woman. We adjusted our American expectations for European style service. They don 't fuss and fawn over you in Europe. You gesture and they 'll come, otherwise they leave you be. To those complaining, don 't be such an entitled American cliche. You 're in their culture. Adapt or whine.
