"We went to the bar last week for a meal, unable to get in but my granddaughter who is 20 and her friend decided to wait. When a seat became available they sat down, they had been waiting 20 minutes. The waitress approached them and barked “stand up, get out of those seats, they are reserved”. There was no signage on the table. The reduced my granddaughter to tears. Yesterday, I had some other friends and I thought we would try again, perhaps they were just having a bad day. We asked for a table, they told us 10 minutes so we waited. The guy shouted at us, we were waiting in a public pavement outside the restaurant area, we had “get out of my way” we were not obstructing his way at all. Myself, my friends and a Dutch couple waited, and waited and waited and then gave up. With out a doubt they are the rudest staff in Brantome,. I have had a house there 19 years and have had quite a lot of bad reviews from there but believe in giving the benefit of the doubt. Done, will not try again, people skills people, those tourists are your bread and butter"

Too bad we can't book, open at 12 o'clock, everybody who's waiting to throw themselves on a table. the waitresses, though nice are overwhelmed. The meal was of good quality.

Nice welcoming staff and beautiful shaded terrace next to the Dronne river. They have a good beverage list and the price for the drinks is ok. Great place to have a drink and to enjoy the view on the abbey. Restroom is clean. Just one thing… maybe consider it being ok to let customers ask for a bottle of tap water

I do not understand that other reviews complain about the personal. I visited during the lunch break on a particularly hot day. three different waiters served us and each of them was friendly and particularly efficient. eating was also very good. I'm gonna hit a star because there's only one toilet, so there was a pretty wait.
