Bengal Spice - Menu

The food is bland and a below average curry with no consideration made to try and make good tasty curries. There is no local competition so I guess they don’t need to try. Staff are pleasant and the interior is ok.

Popped in on the off chance could get a table as staying at a local hotel overnight. Given a table straight away, a few other people in. Goid menu choices, food came quickly which is always a worry. However it was perfect. Great flavours, good value for money. Recommended. Nice touch a shot of Baiileys with the bill.

Arrived in Holmfirth late tonight so fancied a takeaway. Ordered easily online, was ready bang on time, and most of all wonderful food! We had a Chicken Korma, Lamb Shahi Balti, which was spiced to perfection. Generous half portion of fish fingers chips for our child. When I collected the restaurant was heaving, a great sign for a Thursday night! Would recommend!

We have dined at this restaurant many times now. We stumbled upon it while on vacation and are so glad we did. It is the best Indian food we have ever had and we absolutely love it. The Tikka Took is amazing and we have not been able to find it on any other menu. Whenever we are in the area, we make sure to visit a couple of times before heading back home to Kent. We highly recommend it.

The service tonight was terrible. It took over an hour between the starters and main courses, with staff standing around watching football instead of attending to us. When we finally received our food, it was of poor quality. Two starters were missing and took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. The same thing happened with our main courses, as two were missing and took another 15 minutes to be served. Sides and drinks were also missing. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and took a total of 3 hours for starters and mains. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

It was an amazing experience to visit holmfirth because of Bengal spice , me and my wife been to holmfirth for couple of days and tried different indian restaurants but i must say Bengal spice is the best indian curry house i've ever visited . The interior was marvelous the quality of food was incredible with variety of options in the menu from starters to main .As i was confused what to try, a young man name memud came and helped me to decide my meal. the way he explained me all the curry and the ingrediants in it i was so excited to try most of them .on his recommendations i tried the dish called Katmando i believe.it was the most delicious chicken curry we've had some rice and garlic naan...

We had a wonderful time at Bengal Spice, although we hadn’t booked in advance and it was a busy Saturday night, we were quickly welcomed. The atmosphere was great, with lots of other diners and very friendly service. The waiters were absolutely amazing, very attentive. The restaurant was very modern and decorated beautifully with lots of character, with big windows, brick wall and quirky lights. The food was delicious, the poppadoms were perfectly crisp with a fantastic array of dips. Just came back from an amazing Saturday evening out at Bengal Spice, and wouldn't have wished for a better evening with friends. Ordered the mixed platter and mixed fish platter for starters, which were battered and served with style. The fish pakora and masala fish were so soft, the chicken had the perfect amount of seasoning, and the king prawns were perfectly cooked. For the mains, we asked for two surprise mains and were given the special rice, Hyderabadi biryani, lentil curry, and two chicken curries. The restaurant is spacious with seating for approximately 80 people, decorated in warm browns and golds. Despite the rainy Sunday evening, the staff were welcoming and knew many of the customers by name. I enjoyed a variety of dishes from the extensive menu, starting with poppadoms and a selection of delicious pickles. The Shami Kebabs and Kathmandu Chicken were both flavorful and satisfying, accompanied by fluffy pilau rice and a sweet Peshwari naan.
