"Regularly partake of their London Particular Soup (pea and brimming with fabulous hock) but today had a celebratory lunch. Everything perfect melt in the mouth mustard mash, charming attentive service from new FOH member Izzy and the meat? Feather blade which was, frankly, the best piece of beef I've ever eaten... fellow guests were equally complimentary. Thank you Beckford! Food drinks: Probably better for meat eaters than vegans but there are options."

"My family and I met for a celebratory supper and weren’t disappointed. The food is excellent and the menu varied but not too extensive. We all said it was hard to choose from such an interesting and varied menu. The staff are friendly and helpful and the new outdoor seating allows views over the adjoining fields. It isn’t heated but we were offered blankets and were very cosy. Excellent value for money and thoroughbred recommended."

"the breakfast is here this morning, as we have left wiltshire to return to sussex. the inn was nicely clean and very comfortable. I ordered the full English and my father ordered the ham and eggs on muffins. a cup of coffee was also brought to the table. we were then invited to visit the buffet before our cooked breakfast arrived. my breakfast was great! in general and well cooked. good quality ingredients too. my father said the same thing about him. the service was always warm and attentive... really excellent. we were surprised that the price was only £7.50 per head for what was an unforgettable breakfast. we recommend this beautiful inn. many thanks to the young man, who also looked so well for us and to the person who prepared us both so delicious."

"Hello, after thinking about this, I do feel justified to contact you to explain how I feel. Yesterday we came in for lunch and this being a lunchtime treat for my daughter her husband and my grandson, we frequent lovely restaurants and pubs to delight in good locally sourced and freshly cooked food. However, I am sorry to say we left bitterly disappointed and at a very heavy price, now before you think ‘these people aren’t used to paying for good food’ yes we are, but, to charge us £185.00 for our lunch when, I had roast pork, my daughter had roast beef and then there was 2 American burgers … 1) The burgers came with plastic cheese and a few shreds of cabbage and the fries were hardly home cooked chips but instead a handful of frozen ones … 2) My daughter had 2 slices of beef, both of which were full of gristle … She had HALF a Carrot and HALF a Parsnip !! a teaspoon of creamed leeks and likewise for cabbage, the roast potatoes were dry and hard, all obviously pre cooked. 3) I had the pork, the roast potatoes were as above and low and behold, I had HALF a Carrot and HALF a Parsnip, no brains needed to work out that between my daughter and I we had one carrot and one parsnip between us The same applies to to the vegetables, I must however compliment you on the Yorkshire pudding. 4) The ice cream choice … one tiny scoop 5) £20 discretionary service charge was added and yet not one smile came out of any of the faces of our waiting staff in fact the young girl who took our order looked liked she’d rather of been anywhere except at work and us deciding on a menu choice to her was obviously a complete hindrance! We have ate and paid for many meals lunches and suppers out at various locations but yesterdays experience sadly was a bitter disappointment and at a huge cost nearly £200 for poor meat ridiculous vegetables and surly staff. We have ate at The Lamb and Beckford Arms many times but thought we’d try yourselves. The very sad situation is I wrote this and sent it privately so the pub could have the chance to respond however I heard nothing so I sent a message again privately to ask if someone would respond nothing I then rang the pub and actually spoke to the manager I was told they’d get back to me Nothing!"

"Whilst a 3 rating is perhaps a little low, I couldn't quite go to a 4 for reasons I'll explain. I'll start with the positives and that is the food was very nice, as was the coffee and I would recommend on this basis. Service was unfortunately disjointed. It took over half an hour to order, 45 mins to get a drink. Sitting outside we felt forgotten. After waiting we went in search of a menu and as we wanted lunch were advised that we had to wait until midday. Fine for us but being 11.55 we couldn't have a menu to be looking at and were told to come back. On going back we were given a brunch menu instead and had to go back again. I'll end on a positive and say once we got to order service the food arrived within 15 mins."
