Block House Berlin Zehlendorf

So I am American and have tasted the holy grails of steak. And this place, for Germany, isn't bad. A bit pricey...but it will do if you need that American steak atmosphere.

Ideal place for a sumptous meal with the family. Great steaks and value for money a surprise for kids celebrating hisher birthday. Nice,cosy quiet. Centrally located few hundred meters from S bahn station Zehlendorf

We stopped by for dinner after leaving the Weihnachtsmarkt in Potsdam. The restaurant’s located next to the train station. Great salad, Filet Mignon cooked to order and baked potato. The Malbec was tasty but a bit young Visualizza piatti

Popped in here in the summer late on one evening for a couple of beers. Staff very friendly despite them having had a long day and happy to serve us beer only when I was half expecting them to say no, diners only Nice atmosphere,...and interesting photographs on walls of pre-War Zehlendorf.

The steakhouse Block House is near the station. We parked our bicycles outside the restaurant but discovered later that there was also a bicycle park within their compound. When the staff asked us if we wanted to eat outside or inside we where not aware...of the terraces with view at the station. Therefor we stayed inside. The food was very good and the dessert was excellent Eis und Heis: icecream and hot fruit

I wavered between three and four stars, but decided on the average score because: The steaks were good but lacked seasoning I ordered mine rare and received what I would describe as medium-rare on the way to medium The waitress forgot one...one of the drinks. All the food was tasty, and the prices were reasonable. It will satisfy your hankerin' for a steak. But it's not on the same level as more premium restaurants. Visualizza piatti

I’ve never had seen more racist behaviour in a restaurant in my life because of a English family who was in the restaurant a a few weeks before me had made some trouble and because I’m English I’m band as me and my family went...though the door the staff could hear us speaking English and told us to leave we were completely in shock because we didn’t know what was the problem and then the staff said some week ago we had trouble with you English. I was so angry and embarrassed we just left immediately. If one German causes trouble in a restaurant we don’t band them all I think we definitely should naw because that’s what happened to me and my family

Block House has been in this central Zehlendorf location, right next to the S-Bahn station, for ages and I can see why. Block House is a chain of high quality Argentinian steak restaurants with a streamlined menu where great steaks feature. The Zehlendorf location is...a little less trendy than the new location at the Bikini Mall in the City West but the advantage of that is that it is a true family restaurant where families feel welcome. The restaurant has a great outdoors patio too. My wife and I always go for the filet mignon beef with salad, bread and baked potatoe (with sour cream) and together with a beer and coke we pay around which is not cheap but definitely worth the money.

This restaurant is in what was the American sector, and therefore caters to the more conservative clientele of the area (this is not Kreuzberg). Subdued and calm, a perfect atmosphere for those not looking for rowdy young punters or blaring rock music, but polite, well-groomed...serving staff and clean lavatories. The great food is not the cheapest, but well worth it. I'd recommend this place for those who are not afraid to spend around euros a head, although you probably could eat here for a little less but who goes to a steak restaurant in Europe if they're on a budget.
