"I've been here a few times and were it not for the reasonably priced softplay we would come here. Hubby thinks the buffet carvery is great so thumbs up from him for that. Otherwise the menu options are extremely limited if you don't want chips with your meal. Mostly burgers and the generic curry meal or salad. Lots of drink options, I enjoyed my tiramisu iced coffee, once it cake out made as it should be, which when I asked if it came with cream, the boy just shrugged and said he would ask: surely staff should know what they are serving? Staff are always lovely but a bit useless. Probably because there isn't enough of them. I.e. bringing mains out before the starter plates are cleared, and thus struggling to put anything down, not returning after mains are given to ask about dessert. The last time I was there, there was a power cut. Not their fault obviously, but everyone was left to finish what they had in the gloom. No member of staff came round to explain what was going on, how we would pay, if they knew what was happening. They just all seemed to disappear. They could have asked the kitchen staff to support informing people (as they weren't cooking anything thats for sure). The person in the softplay area just walked out and left it whilst children were still in there (subsequently helping themselves to the drinks fridge at the counter). There was no management at all. Improvements needed with management, staffing and menu choices (but I guess that's a head office decision). And like I said, we only go there because the softplay is reasonable and its location. Vegetarian options: A few but merged with vegan options. They are happy to swap for real cheese if asked. Kid-friendliness: Softplay available (unless a kids party is happening) for about £3 per child"

Had a good breakfast this morning. Food is brought out to order. My mushrooms were a little cold but all very tasty. Unlimited food and hot drinks which is good value. Places to also plug your laptop in and charge phone if you need them. Friendly staff too

only brilliant for a family dinner. our little one went off and played in the soft game and we could sit and watch that he wears himself over great eating and a cheeky glass wine. the chap who took care of the soft play area was great with our son, he is a real jewel that could never let him go!

really good place to eat. I'm here a couple times. service was on the place, and there is a play free the back when they eat there, so they can let the children wrap their energy afterwards. they also do blue light cards discounted and all workers encourage everyone to pop with one and use them!

It was so bad, I'll never go back. Run by kids with no service experience and a chef that doesn't know how to cook a steak, or present food. Not only that but they don't know how to order food stock either. Or present the correct bill. 2 carverys and a drink on our bill we never had. We had a party of 10, so could have been easily missed. See pictures. Avoid avoid avoid !!!

Shout out to GEMMA!! Great in her job... from our experience she's a natural! Welcoming, arm and friendly greeting and service. You need more like her... Food arrived in good time too. My rump steak was cooked medium rare to perfection! Although the other order of fish arrived with soggy batter it tased very nice too... No complaints just praise for your staff x Service: Dine in

Main man on the door, was very attentive and did a great job, food was enjoyable, but not very hot, which is why they lose 1 star. Also told its all table service due to covid, with only 4 people sitting should have been a walk in the park. Perhaps they needed one person visible and available all the time. One customer had to get up and go to the main area, to ask for the bill, later on two children had to go up and ask for onion rings, minor points, but shouldn't have been necessary.

Good food, much better then a couple of years ago. Had a large group and was catered for quickly. The waiter Frankie was particularly friendly and accommodating to such a large, and daily rowdy group. Very well priced with excellent options for saving when on a budget. For a group of 11 people the total bill was less then £100, due to the savers menu. Were lots of children around, but then it does have a soft play area. Not a place to socialise in much in terms of a pub atmosphere, but for a restaurant it was perfect average.

Newly decorated, although at the moment the children's area is closed for a revamp (there is an outside play area). There is room for small and larger groups and a bar! Service was good, but some of our meals (I had steak and chips), was over cooked to what I asked for. Desert menu is varied and very high in sugar (it's a pity a healthier option isn't available). The atmosphere inside is relaxing, and there was plenty of room on and around our table, and we never felt rushed to eat and go. Afterwards we spent some time sitting outside before leaving.

"This pub has a beautiful summer garden and we enjoyed watching the variety of wild birds that flittered around. Whoever maintains the garden does so with pride and with knowledge of how to create a wonderful space. The same pride and knowledge is not represented...in our experience of the food. It took over an hour to receive a burnt fish chips and a fish burger that was a tiny bit of cheap fish cake. The fish cake tasted unsurprisingly dreadful, more potato than fish, a frozen bought in effort and was returned uneaten. After the hour's wait the kitchen was closed so no alternative was offered. The fish chips were supposed to come with creamed peas, but instead came with plain frozen peas. The claimed home made tartare sauce was out of a jar. The batter was dark brown and bitter and clearly over cooked to the point of being burnt. The chips were equally over cooked and dry. In our view the chips were frozen not fresh. The chef needs to take a leaf out of the gardeners book and take some pride at what leaves their workplace, as we left hungry and bitterly disappointed. That food should never have left the kitchen in the state it was and is hugely disrespectful to the customer. The service was friendly but slow. We weren't offered an apology nor were we asked how the fish chips were, despite them clearly being picked at and mostly left. The pub wasn't busy with perhaps 4/5 tables occupied by the time we left. This pub can clearly do better judging by the over positive reviews. It manifestly failed for us, on our first visit as locals."
