Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant staff all friendly and welcoming. Had an amazing meal and reasonably priced. Nice to see they don't force service charge. Would definitely come again if in the area

First time to this lovely restaurant to celebrate my girl friend's birthday. Just off the the beaten track, The Courtyard is well worth a visit! The staff were very friendly and the place has a relaxing ambiance. The background music was tasteful and relaxing and the service was quick and efficient. The food was very good. Excellent food at reasonable price. Would recommend this great restaurant! We will be back soon!

We had a fabulous meal today, celebrating my dad's 80th birthday. There were 21 of us, and having pre-selected our meal choices, we were served in a timely manner, without being rushed. All of the team were very attentive, and couldn't have done anything more for us. Lots of communication in advance via email, and always a fast response to any email query. Thanks to Alice and the team, you made our day a really good one to remember. Thank you!

The receptionist at our hotel recommended this restaurant among others. We were both very hungry so decided to look here first due to its proximity. What a fabulous decision. The place itself is very pretty with little lights and lots of natural wood. The menu looked OK but not beautifully presented as it was a photocopied laminated sheet. Our party of four enjoyed a variety of starters and main courses, all of which were outstanding. The pork medallions, sea bass, and prawns dish were particularly delicious, with generous portions of vegetables. While not everyone had room for dessert, the bread and butter pudding was excellent. The wine selection is a bit limited, but there is something for everyone, along with a good range of non-alcoholic drinks. The service was efficient and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely dine there again on our next visit to Wells.

Tucked away in a courtyard it would be easy to miss this restaurant. At first glance of the menu i thought there wasn’t anything I wanted. We chose the oriental chicken breast and the pork. Both were absolutely amazing; beautifully cooked succulent meat with well flavoured sauces. There was a plate of vegetables to share and we were told we could have more. There were at least five different vegetables and all cooked just right. There were also chips which were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We both had apple strudel after. Service was just right, efficient but friendly. This has to be one of the best restaurant meals we have had in a long time and not overly expensive either...

This is a hidden gem in Wells. The exterior is very unassuming up a small courtyard, as the name suggests. The inside is lovely spacious, good decor and lots of tables. The menu is not enormous, but plenty on there to tickle my taste buds. Mrs Bald and I shared the salmon and prawn with warm roll starter. A great little offering to start the meal. Mrs Bald then had Sea Bass with prawns and seasonal vegetables and I had gammon steak with chips. The meals were first class. As Goldilocks would say not too big or too small .
