"Today I decided to visit the chapel gallery cafe, as you do I went for a lovely coffee with my friends. However one of my friends thought that the coffee was rather cold, so she sent it back, and from where I was sat I could hear the boss muttering profanities. I was disgusted, I cannot believe that a boss of any etablishment would use this language in front of customers. Everything else was lovely, although I think what I assume to be the boss should become more friendly as he’s working in an environment where he needs to be warming, and then everything would be perfect!"

Really tasty lunch with fresh ingredients lots of choice. Worth finding out about new £20 cinema deals which include 2-course meal film.

Really great selection of vegan dishes and the best tea and coffee in Ormskirk. The setting is tranquil and welcoming. Highly recommend!

The espresso here is perfect full bodied fruity without any hint of bitterness. Surroundings are relaxed and comfortable with pleasant and knowledgeable staff.

I visited twice over the festive period with my family and the food was delicious probably the best lunches in Ormskirk! On my first visit I had a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and basil soup.

I have been here a couple of times now can thoroughly recommend it. The coffee is the best I've had in a long time the cakes are nice fresh, unlike the dry offerings served elsewhere. It's dog friendly too, which is unusual. The proprietors are very friendly, coming out to talk to me about my dog. All in all, a great experience.

Called in after looking at the art exhibition at the Gallery, we ordered two bacon barms from the advertised menu but told they haven't got any bacon, sausage barms? None of those either. Staff very apologetic but really didn't cut it, if it's on the menu it should be available, if it's not available it shouldn't be on the menu, simples! We went away hungry!

Been a couple of times previously to Chapel Gallery Cafe however for the last 2 week's been for post ParkRun brunch have to say food friendly service has been exceptional. As 2 of us are also plant based foodies the vegan brunch is amazing fresh local foods chef has really thought about combination, its far and away different from your usual vegan substitute foods in a brunch delicious

My father and I visited for the first time today. We were greeted and treated like old friends. A big fuss made of my elderly father. The food was delicious, plentiful and nicely presented. The vegetarian breakfast was really varied. They were very busy but still found time to do their job thoughtfully. The music is really ambient..we really liked the feel of the place and will certainly return. Many thanks!

Went here recently and had the soup and a sandwich for six pounds, usually when you get this in other cafes you get a smaller soup and just a sandwich and no side salad or crisps etc. when we got this the soup came in a small glass and you got half a sandwich not two rounds of bread with something in between but just one piece of bread cut in half, you did get a lot of filling and the ham was lovely but it looked like a child's portion and not what you get in most places. It was vry nice with a tiny bit of salad but very paltry.

"This is a review based only on take away food and from over take aways, so not a one off. One of the biggest surprises to us was the variation in quality from one week to the next. An example of this is that...a Tandoori mixed grill one week was so good, my partner had it again the next week, second time it was almost covered in a slimy coating and not at all pleasant. This also happened with a lamb Rogan josh, top quality one week, a few weeks later it tasted more like a pudding (more of this later). The quality of the meat, be it chicken, lamb or prawn has been generally absolutely top quality, large tasty pieces of meat, larger pieces than most other takeaways and good quality too. The side dishes have been generally good to. Price wise Holdi is expensive, there is no question about this and when the food is good quality I do not mind paying for it, the inconsistency we have encountered doesn’t warrant these prices to be honest. However, the biggest issue we have with Holdi is sweet curries, so often we have all of us) said this tastes sweet try it yourselves. It’s sweet to a point that it becomes a bit weird and not what you want from a curry. In addition to this have a look at the menu, about times it must say a sweet dish! We have avoided these and still received a sweet dish, the last one a sweet chicken jalfrezi…? Finally, when its around for a takeaway, chuck in a few poppadoms most other restaurants and takeaways do, it is a nice gesture."
