Lovely food, great service. Steak and ale pie was a generous portion size and was delicious. The fish and chips were seriously yum! Would definitely recommend a visit!

Chapmans restaurant in Albox is a gem of a place. We have sampled the Steak night on a Wednesday(bookings essential) it was superb. On another occasion, we dropped in to sample their home cooked fish and chips- best we have ever had!! Highly recommended

our first time here for fish and chips, although we were together with their steak nights (big eating). the fish and chips that we had both agreed were the best we had in the opposite, very generous portions and also great service. definitiw to be back.

We ordered full breakfasts which includes tea/coffee and toast. Our teas were quickly delivered to our table outside to be enjoyed, followed by our breakfasts. My husband's quickly disappeared and mine was savoured for longer. We both gave 10 out of 10! The waitress...was efficient. Central location.

my man and I enjoy our fish and chips all depends on who cook. charlotte the owner makes amazing crunchy fish and delicious crispy chips delicious. Sometimes it was a frit that simply does not do it for us. soggy chips and very watery mushy peas..disappointing! everything. when we go back to more and the waitress is a real gem.

We call into this restaurant many times for food, beer , meeting friends. We have had the fish and chips, ale steak pie and omelette to name a few. Also had the pleasure of attending their Sunday roasts best to book). All food excellent...and served with a smile. Outside terrace is dog friendly and they provide water for your hairy friend. Considering ours are Great Danes this is appreciated. Lovely staff .

new visit for Sunday dinner in advance. eat quite average, meat nice but gravy like brown water and veggies massiw overcooked. bizarre thing was, it should be a karvery, but had to wait to be called individually to get food. very strange. the worst was the condition of the tiled floor in the restaurant, it was really terrible with unhygienic drills? holes and cracks. it looked so dirty and filthy and lets you get out of food. decoration was also drab and dull (burgundy with cheap paper table covers. all looked very tired and shady and uninviting. a shame. def will not take visitors or family there.

After reading the Rave reviews about chapmans, we decided to make an hour trip to try their fish and chips on Friday afternoon. we were able to park outside the restaurant and take a table on the terrace. another couple. tasted full English breakfast and they looked delicious. good COVID protocols were present. service was friendly, attentive and efficient. we ordered cablejau and chips and scampi and chips. the portions were very generous. we found both our fish over boiled and dry, and the chips had the impression that they were fried in old oil, the taste was not good. overall we remained disappointed, not the standard we had expected to have read all previous reviews. Visited here several times since staying in Albox and have to say it’s a lovely place. The staff are friendly and attentive even during all this coronavirus stuff. Drinks are priced amazingly and the wine is much nicer than you would get back in the...UK! Food is always freshly prepared. We’ve had great breakfasts (and I even swapped tinned tomatoes for a grilled tomato because I’m a pain Nothing is too much trouble even when we visited with our niece she was catered for and treated amazingly (despite being a pain making noise haha). The steak night is so good! Beautiful fillet steak or surf and turf upgrade with onion rings or a sauce! And a free salad bar too! Sunday lunch is most highly r...
