Chapter Sourdough Pizzeria

On a day trip to Canterbury we came across this restaurant. As it was my husband's birthday we decided to have lunch. Very friendly staff, and an excellent lunch. Plus dog friendly so that was a bonus as we had Cookie with us.

Not our first time at Chapter and hopefully not our last. We booked in the afternoon and got the last available table. The pizza options are really good here. House wine goes down easily. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommend...this place.

The food was mediocre. The restaurant was loud and noisy, we could hardly hear ourselves talk. We were at an awful table near the back of the restaurant, close to the back door and we could smell cigarette smoke. Our table wobbled so our drinks...kept slipping around. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The food was very good. Sourdough, I've never been a fan, was very delicious. Well proven. Fluffy with a crisp crack. Service was helpful and friendly. Not overly interested, but still smiling and friendly. Prices Average for style and location. 1 star lost... as the "runny" egg on the Fiorenrina was massively over boiled and hard boiled. Worth a visit.

A very disappointed second visit to this place, a cold table, an airspace that is also above the table, the staff lacked experience and definitely customer report. Beef lasagna contained mainly pasta and when my husband questioned this, the employees were dismissed, but... that this would be removed from the bill, it was not. Would not return to this restaurant in the future, unpleasant birthday experience.

I was looking for a quick lunch before a court hearing. Chapter is a welcoming place with a long window where from the street the making of pizzas behind a long bar is clearly visible. Once inside, however, I was beckoned to a smaller and...lower room behind. Notwithstanding many temptations from the small-ish pizza and pasta menu I opted for a special Gorgonzola and salami pizza. I would normally be wary of choosing such a pungent cheese but it proved entirely suited to being melted and spread across a pizza base. It was less oungent and almost genial. From another small dessert selection I enjoyed a chocolate mousse.

Food was okay, service was terrible. came for the first time for a Friday dinner with friends. Pizzas and my drink were okay. Service staff didn't really check us at all, on the table next to us the staff had stacked... all their bags and coats and then during our meal they started to eat pizza and drink beer on the table, which was strange. There were only about 3 tables that made it so strange that we were not visited. At 9.45 we were told that the restaurant was closed, we were not asked if we wanted desserts and we all had full drinks. They then got the bill wrong, and at 10 we were told they were closed and offered withdrawal cups and asked to go. There was also no toilet roll in one of...

Such a shame. Food was below average, cocktails were tiny for the price and an employee was so rude. After 30 minutes of sitting, not one person asked if I wanted a drink. Food came, what boring, no taste,...not asking if we wanted something else, no one checked us if we were okay or if we liked the food or needed another drink. discretionary fee came on the bill of around £10, which I normally do not pay. But our experience was not justified, so I asked the courage waitress if we could take it off to which she reacted “Why is the problem?” To whom I let them know about the above and their answer to me was that they “do not do this here” I.E do not review them for customers who are a lie as...

I came here with my boyfriend for a late lunch around four o’clock. The restaurant looked a bit gloomy from the back and not particularly welcoming. I think that does need to be addressed. We thought we’d take a chance because we could see...some people eating in the side of the restaurant. Wow! Such a good decision. Lydwine gave us the most incredibly warm welcome and took us through, pointing out the step in case we tripped. She was engaging and was actually a pleasure to chat with while she gave us the menus.
