Ciambra - Menu

Bel ristorante, arredato con gusto. Speravo di vivere un'esperienza gastronomica fantastica con il pesce, ma purtroppo ho trovato il cibo piuttosto mediocre. Peccato.

Wonderful lunch in Monreale after visiting the church and cloisters. Beautiful setting when seated outside with a view of Palermo. Delicious pasta with fresh clams and fresh fish over vegetables. Fabulous fresh fruit tart dessert!!

I had the cod, my husband had the tuna. Both dishes were ok but nothing special. The fish was not perfectly fresh, either. We have had better tuna in midwestern America. Cod dish was made with tomatoes and capers, but lacked piquancy.

Il decoro grigio chiaro e l'illuminazione perfetta nella sala da pranzo creano un'atmosfera rilassante per cenare. Il menu a base di pesce ha alcune opzioni interessanti e la presentazione dei piatti e le abilità culinarie sono molto buone. Sicuramente consigliato se ti piace il pesce.

The fresh amberjack was the best we have ever had! Service was excellent , a very good Grillo wine and Julia’s desert recommendation was spot on. We had this meal as lunch since the cathedral is closed then. After lunch we then went to the cathedral. A perfect afternoon. Bill and Sandy

Il pessimo servizio non è stato compensato dal cibo buono; siamo arrivati alle 12:50 e abbiamo mangiato alle 2:20, esattamente 1 ora e mezza di attesa per il nostro cibo. Non c'è stata un'apologia sufficiente o aggiornamenti costanti su quando sarebbe arrivato il nostro cibo. Al momento di pagare, non è stato tolto nulla dal conto per il disagio. Non lo consiglierei.

This was a mixture of pretentiousness vapid and insipid food….when pressed to comment and give reasons why we were dissatisfied they took offence. There were seven of us who ordered a mixture of pastas and fish, and not one plate was satisfactory….dry overcooked tasteless fish, bland and uninspiring pastas…. I am at loss to remember eating so modestly and for so much money in a restaurant in Italy

This restaurant provided the most wonderful dining experience I've had in many years. To begin with the room is designed beautifully tasteful, modern, and artful. Then the meal that I and my partner had was one beautiful, tasty, and creatively designed dish after another. For example, the seafood appetizer was plated to look like the clams, muscles and octopus were sitting in a curve along the side of a blue sea and each of the items was cooked and flavored uniquely and perfectly. The caponata, made with locally caught swordfish pieces, was awesome. The squid ink ravioli was to die for and came out looking like a beautiful blossom on the plate. Chef Ivan is a genius.

Sometimes life presents you with special gift and blessings. Eating in this temple of Sicilian gastronomy was one of them. The restaurant is perched on top of a hill with an incredible view of Palermo. A very modern and welcoming atmosphere, Ciambra Restaurant is a special place. As the President of the Harvard Wine Cuisine Society, we are always looking for unique restaurants that are off the path and the road less traveled.
