"Our second visit . We took our granddaughters again. It was extremely busy. When we got there , there was total chaos with the amount of traffic. The traffic and parking Marshall’s were clearly out of their depth with this volume of traffic. There was a queue in the main entrance with national trust ticket holders getting preferential treatment. The lady who was checking tickets was rude and unhelpful and made go to the back of the season ticket queue despite us not having a season ticket. And in fact could of gone straight through to buy our tickets. Once in the gardens it was as to be expected with lovely autumn colours and settings. We then decided we wanted to eat but refused to wait 30mins plus to get to the tea rooms , so we were directed to the sandwich kiosk where we were expected to wait a further half hour. There was another big queue for the toilets. In the end we gave up and went to a local pub for relief and food.Seriously a venue like this should expect the numbers they had today and an organisation as big as the national trust should be also be expected to cope with such numbers. Very disappointing frustrating and stressful , with 2 young granddaughter in tow"

Rubbish for vegans. I'd visit the gardens again but remember to take a packed lunch or go somewhere else to eat.

Very nice setting, not a huge selection of food available but what there was all looked really nice and home made. Banana and Maple cake was epic!

We were ready for a hot meal and it was served within a short time. As a vegetarian I had less choice but the macaroni cheese was tasty. My husband enjoyed his Cumberland sausage. We had a choice of chips or potatoes. Visualizza piatti

Had coffee and lunch there. Good quality food, nicely prepared. Interesting location and surroundings. Only point to make would be that the staff could have been more receptive and welcoming. Felt we were being processed .

We often visit Sheffield Park. Mostly to walk dogs through the fields and along the river. Occasionally, when it is not too busy, we visit the beautiful formal gardens and lakes. We always visit the Tea Rooms towards the end of the day as we can depend on the quality and the lovely location.

The Coach house tea rooms at Sheffield Park originally built by the 3rd Lord Sheffield as coach house and stable block . Probably one of the best National Trust tea rooms I've been in and just the job for a nice latte after a walk around the gardens. Winston Churchill used to pop in for tea and to check on his beloved black swans . For a National trust cafe the prices aren't bad either. Visualizza piatti

This cafe looks quite appealing, but unfortunately the food options are extremely limited and uninspiring. I visited with a friend and we shared two sandwiches, which were just ok, although the “cheddar and red onion marmalade “ one seemed to be cheddar and cranberry sauce! The mistake we made was also ordering the flatbread with sun dried tomato houmous, which took an age to arrive, so long that we actually went and asked where it was after such a long time. When it arrived it was half a plate of what looked like pinkish baby sick and a cold, anaemic looking flatbread on the other side, no salad garnish, no appearance of a sun dried tomato. It tasted revolting as well, and the texture was o...

Often visit Sheffield Park gardens, this was the first time I have visited the tearoom, but was worth the visit. I had a nice hame and cheddar sandwich, sausage roll and a pot of tea, I visited just before you would expect the lunch time rush, served quickly and there appeared to be enough staff on hand to cope when it got busier. Just one small thing that I think needs adjusting, when you arrive you enter the first part which has cakes and sandwiches laid out to select yourself and take into the main part of the tearoom to get your hot items, pay and find a table (and there is ample seating, even for the busiest times). I was looking for a tray and plates to put my selection on and eventual...

"The last time I visited this restaurant was 6 years ago, it WAS a real hidden gem. When I walked in this evening nothing had changed and I was hoping the food would be just as good as I remembered. Service was slow which surprised us as it was a Sunday night and pretty empty. We were given some olives while we ordered (the nicest part of the meal unfortunately). My boyfriend ordered the garlic focaccia with caramelised onion; the bits that had cheese and onion on were very tasty but this was only about 30% of the focaccia, the rest of the bread was over cooked and bland. I ordered bruschetta which was completely underwhelming. 4 small pre sliced bits of stale bread, some chopped up soft tomato and pesto with rocket in the centre. I could have made this at home. For mains I ordered what I always used to have, linguine alla marinara. The portion of pasta was decent, however I only counted 6 pieces of seafood and one large prawn on the top. The menu states it also comes with tomato’s which there were none of. The flavour tasted like buttery pasta with a hint of garlic, again completely underwhelming. My boyfriend ordered spaghetti meatballs. A large portion but completely inedible as it was absolutely disgusting. The sauce tasted like pure tomato purée, so lumpy and stodgy and the meatballs were like nothing we had ever tasted, VILE. We decided to bring the rest of the portion home for my mum (a head chef) to try. We wanted to know what she thought the flavour was as we were confused as to how you can make a meatball taste so vulgar! She spat it out immediately saying it tasted like it had either been cooked in or made with rancid/old fat. The cherry on the top for us was when we asked for the bill. We were given the generic boiled sweets that come with it. 2 of the boiled sweets were in wrappers however there was a third that stuck them all together that was half chewed, out of it’s wrapper. The place was COVERED in cobwebs, decor completely outdated with many flashing lights, menu pages stuck together and stank, looked like they had many a drink spilt over them and not once changed. Don’t even get me started on the toilets! We cleaned our own cutlery it was so filthy and swapped side plates with an empty table next to us as ours had food still on them. Left feeling completely disappointed and are both now suffering with major trumps. Will not be returning again!"

"We had a voucher for a sparkling tea. Reassured by their website that pronounced their covid measurs were above government guidelines I allayed my 93 year olds Mums fear about going. We were able to sit outside which was of much covid reassurance to Mum...And all was well in this wonderful place which Mum pronounced to be 'the real macoy '...they even catered very impressively for my vegan diet...all was well until we paid in the reception lounge. Mum had thought we would not need to hand over our gift card as they had already got our details when we booked on the phone, but not so...she wore her mask, I was lulled into a false sense of security and destracted that Mums very poor hearing meant she had not heard and was about to walk out the door in her unstable on her feet way, as I handed the voucher over minus my mask to the unmasked young man. Mum observed no one in the lounge was wearing a mask, and the young man got very close to me. I do think this is indefensible. Today the government has changed their rules so today they would all have to be wearing their masks, but surely it 's good sense. On reflection I noted our two waitresses were walking pretty close to ' each other too. Most of the clientele seemed to be over 60...surely they have a duty of care. When i check trip advisor for much humbler eating places, alot have staff wearing masks before the government told them they must...WHY NOT HERE!? I did phone them today..I was told staff do get a temperature screen every day ...but that is only an indication. I was impressed they had hands free alcohol gel dispensers, they took our details, wiped our tables and others every hour and after someone has dined. Its a wonderful place which has let itself down."
