"My family and I were excited to try breakfast here after reading reviews.... but to be honest the whole experience was rubbish. Not sure if it was the time of the month for the waiter or not but from the moment we got there we were an inconvenience. Not sure if it was coincidence but he was friendly to locals or those that had stayed in the hotel but with my family (as people just coming to eat in the restuarant) he was extremely rude. If he gave me one more eye roll (I counted 3) ... we were going to up and leave. If it wasn 't for the fact I 'm pregnant and really needed to eat I think we would have. We tried to put that aside and just enjoy our breakfast. But the waitress who made and brought (the weakest coffee known to man) was just as 'welcoming ' as the waiter. We 'd have sent the coffee back but we 'd already waited 20 minutes for it. Anyway breakfast came... I had the full English which apart from soggy toast, was quite tasty. (Not sure how you can get toast wrong but hey ho) ...but my family had the waffles. Pretty sure they were just pre-bought sugar waffles. If I 'm paying £9 for two waffles I expect them to be fresh. I 'd say I can 't complain about the generous amount of syrup but I will because they all said it just made them super soggy. Not once did anyone check to see if the food was good to let them know... but I think they got the hint when I refused to pay the gratuity. Needless to say we won 't be back!"

We booked out a group of rooms here for our wedding last month. The team were very accommodating and the whole process was very smooth and organised. The breakfast included was varied and plentiful, really nice to get a choice of cooked breakfast too rather than a standard full English. The rooms were good, some guests said some were a little tired/dated but certainly fit for purpose. Great location and a gorgeous village. Service for the evening meal and lunch was a little slow
