When we visited this take away, it was very busy, which is a good sign! The food quality was excellent. Service was friendly and fairly fast. Prices are good. Will certainly go back here.

Chips are absolutely disgusting, batter on fish was soggy underneath, no flavour what’s so ever.... use to be a nice chippy but it’s gone down hill..... would not recommend very disappointing

Friendly staff as always and eager to please. Had a chicken breast and chips and an extra large cod and chips. The chips tonight we're even more amazing! Seemed as though they had been half battered and fried . Best chippy in the town. Thank you.

We ordered 2 fish and chip meals, as well as a burger for our granddaughter. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought the burger was a frozen microwave meal or even a rat burger. The fish batter was soggy, and the chips were oversized and also soggy. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again. I strongly recommend avoiding it at all costs.

The chips, fish, and potato fritter were all very greasy. The man behind the counter had grey hair and was scratching his head, wiping his face with a tea towel, and looked unkempt and scruffy in his t-shirt. He was scratching his head and scalp, then touching the food and wiping the counter. There was no pride in the business at all. Always had good quality food for many years so never used any other chip shop in town. But recently not sure if they have changed there suppliers or oils or cook but it’s defo not the same chips been like in batter or mushy when unwrapped at home I’m not the only one that’s noticed it ?? When I mentioned it it was dismissed from the male lad even thou it was full of mushy fish cake I didn’t even have fish cake. I do hope it returns to it best quality would like to return as it’s my local ????

I was really surprised to see that the reviews on here aren’t of a higher overall rating. We have had bought a number of different items from Dolphin; fish, chicken, pie and battered sausage, to name a few and all enjoyed the food throughly. The food is also very reasonably priced and good value for money. I must add the spicy curry sauce is great, I’ve never been to a fish and chip shop that has offered this alternative before. They have adapted well in the current pandemic and have excellent social distancing.

Popped in on the off chance for fish and chips. I had not realised that it was near closing time, but I was welcomed by the very friendly staff and they freshly cooked me two portions of fish and chips. Great service. And the fish and chips were absolutely gorgeous. Very generous sized pieces of cod in delicious batter with lovely fluffy chips. And they wrap the food in paper, not those horrible plastic trays much nicer to eat out of and more environmentally friendly . Have never been to Dolphin Fish bar before, but this will definitely not be my last visit i will be going back for more. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the service.
