"You can get your regular rock cod and chips at retro chippie Fish House or go for something a bit different. And when I say that I'm not talking about battered savs, pukka pies and onion rings. A modern take on the fish and chip shop it also serves things like moules mariniers, maryland crab cakes, oysters, scallop risotto and fish pie. On the side you can have mashed potato, battered samphire (seaweed) or a trio of pickles. Located in that cute little village at the Hackney end of Victoria Park it looks and feels like a fish and chip shop with a front counter and then minimalist tables and chairs in a light and spartan restaurant section at the side and round the back. Is this the beginning of the end? The fish and chips were delicious. I have been coming here regularly for 2 years, traveling through Waltham Forest every time. However, on this visit, the cod was all broken and there was hardly any fish. I hope the standards at The Fish House do not continue to decline. (7/9/19) Visualizza piatti

fischhaus koch sunny not a chef. I eat tho place in times some of the chips are in order, but normally I wonder that they have cooked more when I hot one part of the chips for my son, and we have home, and she was, what looked like a whole load of stranded friend in a buck of chips, as they do not see that I don't know terrible and why they have good ratings

The Fish House is a pleasant dining spot in the neighborhood, offering both a takeout and sit-down restaurant section. I tried the fish and chips as well as the grilled seabass. The fish and chips were nothing special, but I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled seabass. Unfortunately, the staff were as rude as those in other London restaurants. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was satisfactory, but the service left something to be desired.

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
