What excellent food and service...highly recommend the Stilton chicken and rump steak.Wendy gave excellent service and we loved the little buzz for attention bell. Everything is homemade to a high standard, desserts were exceptional.

This was our first visit to this restaurant during our holiday in the area. The food was excellent with a wide variety of options. We even had a lovely conversation about dogs. We will be sure to update you on our upcoming greyhound. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Dog friendly pub. Called and booked a table for tea. Very pleasant hard working staff. Something on the menu for everyone. I did have to question the bill as I thought they had missed something but no.. very happy with the quality, amount and the bill. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again. Ten of us went here for lunch (7 adults and 3 children) on Mother’s Day as we were staying in the area. We had a lovely meal, lots of different foods, great options for the kids and it all arrived at the same time. It’s table service and the landlady was really friendly and funny. Would recommend if you’re in the area

We discovered a real gem! After reading reviews, we decided to make a reservation for lunch before heading home after our weekend getaway to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. Wendy was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and there wasn't a single crumb left on anyone's plate. The staff went above and beyond for our large party of 13, and their commitment to customer service was evident. Thank you!

We are staying in the area and decided to have lunch there, as such good reviews. Partner was there first, ordered a pint of well kept beer, checked if dog could go in and if doing lunch. Yes to both. I arrived a little later to partner sitting outside with pint, told kitchen closing as no other customers and pub also now closed (1pm) Sadly we will not get to find out if as god as the reviews say. Five stars seem such a disappointment when clearly well worth an 8 or more out of 5. So top marks for quality and taste of food, top marks for portion size and top marks for lovely friendly staff. We arrived at 6.45pm and tge place was heaving with customers eating and we were the last to leave that night. Food was wholesome,home prepared and freshly produced, the portions were of a terrific size and there was a fantastic atmosphere. The food was piping hot. We enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday lunch.

We went for dinner this evening and it was just spot on. I had steak, cooked as requested. Chips were tasty. All food was piping hot. Brought out in the time you would expect fresh food to be cooked. Drinks were brought quickly. Everything was reasonably priced. There was an excellent range of desserts. THE STAFF GORGEOUS in every way. Polite, respectful, funny and still professional. Premises were clean and tidy, well presented. Lovely country pub/restaurant. The bell given to each table for service was such a brilliant idea, but you know us English, we don't like to bother people !!! Haha I enjoyed it so much I have booked for Sunday dinner x

My family and I visited this restaurant last Tuesday at noon and were warmly welcomed by Wendy, who is an incredible hostess. We soon discovered that it was a family-run pub, with various family members working in different roles. By the time we left, we felt like we were part of the family. Wendy and her young staff member were so kind and welcoming that I am still smiling when I think about our visit. The menu was diverse, with something for everyone.
