Food was superb, brilliant menu.. New smart decor made it look bigger. But lost some of its charm. No coffee machine or kettle to make a hot drink after a meal. Come on!!!

Sam and David helped us plan a lovely wake for my father, they were very helpful and the food was really good, and plenty of it. We had lots of comments from the guests about how lovely it was.

Good food, friendly staff, lovely location. Reasonably priced 3 courses with a couple of drinks £50 each. Nice outside space, but weather abysmal so never got to use it. Parking not great, beware of permit parking area outside. Visualizza piatti

Great easy dining with newly refurbed interior Friendly staff and varied menu Alway worth a visit anytime of the year lovely garden in warm weather and good fun in winter as if there is snow on the ground people go tobogging as there is a perfect slope to whizz down

When we arrived we were seated outside. However, on the next table was a particularly obnoxious customer how was being extremely difficult with the waitress. She handle the situation very professionally later apologised to us over the person’s behaviour. Excellent service, great Sunday lunch.

We have been going here for years for lovely meals. We’ve just been for a meal after it’s been taken over by new owners and the food was just awful. Never again. Such a shame as it was great as its dog friendly. Dry roast dinners and my son said the burger and chips was also bad now served with cheap tasteless ketchup. Such a shame. Visualizza piatti

Been using this pub for many years and had so many amazing meals, the pub closed for refurbishment and new owners have taken over. Atmosphere still the same staff still the same decor been updated all positives but what a let down the food was. Scampi was burnt, whatever the garnish was meant to be was also burnt. Nothing like it was before, such a shame.

Couldn't have picked a better place to host our Christmas get-together with friends. We were a table of 16 for dinner and drinks, not an easy task but all the food was awesome and the service was great. Everyone was happy and great communication from the pub in the days leading up to the booking which helped me as the orgniasor especially as I was abroad. Thanks so much guys, we had a great experience and a wonderful evening

A lovely Country Pub on the edge of Loughton with lovely views over the forest ... BUT NO ENGLISH BEER !!! The Handpumps have been removed and replaced by a variety of Lagers and Ciders but NO Ales (not even bottles! No call for it we were informed ! The Bar /Restaurant was VERY cold the radiators were all off and the only source of heat (such as it was was from a ceiling mounted A.C. Unit. We opted for the Sunday Roast and to be fair, the Lamb was lovely and one of our party had the Pork however, on asking for Apple sauce, was told that there was none but she could have mustard or horse radish sauce !!!
