"The Garage du Pont is just a stone's throw away from the Glienicker Bridge, the famous Bridge of Spies, connecting Berlin with Potsdam (and in previous times, West with East Germany!) This former gas station, dating from the 1930's, is now a delightful little restaurant. We all had the Escalopes Normandes, or veal Schnitzel. It came with a side of mushrooms and onions, and green salad with apple slices marinated in calvados, just like in Normandy (19.50 Euros). A side of french fries cost 3.50 Euros extra. The wine by the glass was surprisingly good: 0.2 Liters of Chardonnay for 5.50 Euros, and a Picpoul de Pinet for 6.50 Euros. A bottle of sparkling water, Selters, cost 5.90 Euros. Is there better veal Schnitzel to be had in Berlin? Yes. But the meal was very enjoyable and well worth the reasonable price. We especially liked the setting, in front the remains of the old gas station are still discernable, and in the back a very modern room. There are momentos of the history of this building throughout. The guests were a mixture of older and younger couples, also with children, or just some friends. The atmosphere was relaxed and easy and the service was excellent. We will tank up here again on our next visit to historic Potsdam."

I went to the restaurant with 20 other people, and we were well taken care of. The food was ordered in advance, and the kitchen also made desserts for us. The food was tasty and there was a good variety of dishes to choose among.

On my visit to the Glienicker Bridge, I had dinner here. The place is nice and staff very friendly. I had the Steak with Fries, which was nice. It is not so special that you should make a detour to go here, but when you visit the bridge you might as well give it a try.

Good food, good location, and some old fashioned cars give this place a feling of relaxtion with an authentic charm to it.We called in on or way back from Glienke Bridge, which is only a short walk away and throughly enjoyed. Would definately goo again when in theh vicinity.

The location is awesome, we went there for a quick lunch, but 9.50 € for a Currywurst with french fries is not a bargain. The fries seems not hand made and the spicy onions just fresh onions with some chilli powder - for 9,50 €, definitely I expect more. And the service staff was seldom seen. I would recommend only for a coffee and some cake, due to the nice location close to Glienicker Brücke and because of historical gas station. Visualizza piatti

Found the place due to our stay in nearby guest house "Villa Fritz" and remembered reading about it an old car magazine in Germany. Seating indoor and outdoor Re distinctively different but both styles are nice. Outdoor has a nice south France style while indoor is more rustic garage appeal.Food was nothing spectacular but healthy and nice. Salad, some flamkuchen, well seasoned sausagesLast but not least the guests: nice mixture of mid generation yuppy, elderly local neighbors and some youngsters on skateboards .... Lovely and recommended

We were introduced to this little gem by a local who claimed it served the best curry wurst in Berlin and beyond. Just on the other side of the Bridge of Spies the Garage Du Pont does not disappoint. Be prepared that the presentation of the plump curry wurst looks a bit odd - a bumpy skinless affair pierced with a checkered flag. But is WAS delish. We also tried a chocolate torte and espresso. Served just right. Dont pass up the visual feast at the front counter - a bunch of rusty tools, nuts and bolts ARE ACTUALLY FOOD! We tried one of the bolts. Yum and fun.

A nice idea to convert an old gas station into a restaurant, complete with an old pre-war Citroën parked outside. And while we're on atmospherics, it's just a short distance from the Glienicke Bridge, which once marked the border between East and West Germany and where Cold War spies were exchanged. Inside, the restaurant's decor is interesting with a predictable French/motor car theme. Even the music was piped from a French radio channel. The food and drinks were fine. Service was a bit haphazard, though, with the rather dreamy staff sometimes appearing oblivious to the fact that there were customers in the restaurant - room for improvement there! On the whole, a nice experience. Visualizza piatti

While traveling out from Potsdam station to the iconic Cold War site, Glienicke Brucke, (Tram 93), I happened to come across this unusual restaurant. As the name suggests, it has a French theme but also it resembles an old filling station from the outside. Parked in front are 1940 vintage cars and in the restaurant many typical French dishes are on the menu. Apparently. the owner has a big interest in racing cars with several photos of Le Mans scenes on the wall. While deciding to stay for lunch, the prices are in the stratosphere - €9.50 for a Currywurst, which is about €2.50 in downtown Berlin and the typically French Coq au Vin comes in at €20.50. Undoubtedly the food is superb and the unu...

Atmosphere: Lovely place, set in an old gas station. Inside is roomy and the decor is really nicely done. Service: Great - attentive, friendly, helpful staffFood: Absolutely nothing special. I had half a duck with Kartoffelknödel and Rotkohl. The duck was ok, the skin unfortunately wasn't as crispy as it should be and the accompanying potato dumplings were lacking in salt (no salt on the tables either). Red cabbage was pretty good, but it's really hard to mess that up. My friend had the double currycurst - again, ok but nothing special for €12,50.You can tell a lot on a place by their desserts - I ordered a "mousse aux chocolat" (€8,50) which tasted and looked like one of those whipped desse...
