"Decided to give the 'Great Wall ' a try for the first time. It was a takeaway I would collect. An uncomplicated order of beef with chilli black bean, special chow mein, mixed sweet sour balls 2 fried rice and 1 plain chow mein. Over the phone I was told 30- 35 mins. I arrived within 30 mins. I left 55 mins later without an apology for the delay. The quality of the food was a huge disappointment, only 8 small balls, which were chewy and insipid in flavour. Special chow mein was anything but special again mean ingredients mainly chicken very dry and tasteless. Beef in black bean was a sad, stingy portion (probably a blessing) again, very dry. I don 't believe the egg fried rice ever saw a wok. It tasted like boiled rice mixed with some scrambled egg, awful! Plain chow mein was a portion of fine noodles dowsed in soy sauce, barely eddible. £40.00 Thank you very much! In summary, terrible food which was an insult to the buyer. I don 't understand how this type of business continues to exist when the food service is so very poor. Why do they serve food which they themselves would not eat? Who do they take us for? The good people of Rochford deserve better. First and definitely the last time."

I went to this restaurant In Rochford Essex with 7 other friends. we had a reserved booking were made very welcome when we arrived. We all chose different dishes so that we could share. we had duck, pork, lamb various chow meins, sauces, rices sea food platters.we could not fault the food. It was seved piping hot was very well cooked very tasty.We also had white a very nice merlot wine with our meal. One of our friends had green tea some of us had tia maria coffee to finish our evening. we had excellent sevice the staff were friendly attentive. Will certainly go there again!
