"Grimaud Beach has many attributes, especially with regard to its location. It’s on a sandy beach with a lovely sea view. It’s fun watching the boats going in and out of the harbour, views of the bay of St Tropez, and the food is excellent....The bar staff with the notable exception of the Patronne (who is exceptionally rude and disagreeable, and should be avoided at all costs) are helpful and friendly. There is access via the ferry, or by dinghy, and also via a buggy from Grimaud 2. You can hire an umbrella and a sunbed via the bar staff, and the water nearest the harbour wall is shallow and suitable for children. I’d highly recommend this place, but do avoid the Patronne! I’d have given it five stars but for her rudeness!"

Children can play on the beach while the adults have a few beers. Perfect. The location is fab and the food selection was good.

we stayed twice in our last one week stay in port grimaud. the beach restaurant has a perfect location on the small beach of port grimaud. next to the beautiful view in the bay of st. tropez the staff is very friendly and professional. and the eating is fresh and tasty. ceviche and fritto misto and the fresh fish was delicious, we will definitely return there. The best beach and restaurant in the whole gulf. Food is exquisite with a very varied menu, something for everyone. But the piece de resistance is the staff. Definitely the friendliest group of people I have met in my 30 odd years of staying in this area. They are really keen for you to really enjoy your time there. I can't wait until I can be there again next year. I miss it so much.xxx

Used mainly by locals at Port Grimaud, this 'seasonal restaurant offers a very relaxed environment right on the beach. Not a place to go when there is a strong on-shore Easterly or south-easterly wind. Good food and wine with friendly seasonal staff. The problem is getting there as 'non-residents' of Port Grimaud Sud, have to park outside of PGS fromwhich there is a shuttle car to the restaurant, by arrangement with the restaurant, so booking is essential.

You have to find your way here by boat or be staying in Port Grimaud itself where you can get a free water taxi to the place... It's a fabulous spot for a lazy lunch in the sun but you do pay the price of...course for the location...the fresh pasta dishes with seafood were excellent and the friendly service was very good too...only bottles of wine available and at high prices even for this part of the world so opted for beers instead ! If you have lunch here, you can while away the afternoon using their sun beds for free which is a bonus when you paid nearly 100 pounds for lunch for 2 ! Visualizza piatti

It's true I'm not sure how easy it is to get here if you aren't a resident or in a boat. It's a lovely chilled beach bar with sun beds to rent. Just behind the fuel berth at Port Grimaud its on a good little beach with a shallow gradient incline into the sea. Heaps to look at as it's just by the port entrance so lots of comings and goings of boats big and small. The food was absolutely delicious - Caesar salad with lots of chicken, fresh goats cheese salad, wonderful seafood pasta with piles of mussels prawns octopus and clams and additionally very good sushi and California rolls. Reasonable priced delicious rose and super friendly staff. Clean loos! Nothing bad to say - it was all good.

"Popped up to this lovely restaurant this week. First things first, if you're going to come in the summer, it's indoors so expect it to be warm and expect to need to book. Also, bring cash. On to the main info. Didier who owns the restaurant is someone my family met when we stumbled on him at a restaurant 15 years ago. Over the years, we have never missed visiting him if we can. The man is worth visiting any restaurant for alone. He is such a character and so charming. Now with his piano in his restaurant, we love to hang around later on in the evening and play/sing a bit of impromtpu jazz too.The setting is cut into the rock and this is exposed in some of the back areas of the restaurant. The walls are beset with lots of colourful and interesting pieces of art that he has gradually accumulated. Expect to be sitting close to fellow guests and on odd chairs with odd patterned china but it's all part of the fun. The food: mum, the pescatarian, loved the aubergine starter and the fish on offer. The lasagne starter was to die for and the chicken so tasty! My bf thought the chorizo on his pizza was incredible. And the lamb gorgeous too. The pain Tchinch was soooo good and a dessert fiend's best friend. A bit like a Belgian waffle. The moelleux au chocolat is always decadent. The food portions are substantial and for the 31 euros for a three course menu (which does not restrict your choices), a bargain! I didn't indulge much this week in wine but I did try Didier's and it was lovely. The upstairs: part of the roof is missing upstairs in the chill out area and it's lovely and cool. Wonderful for relaxing on the sofas/chairs for a complimentary shot of limoncello at the end of the evening.Verdict: this is a lovely hidden gem set in an ancient village with more character than you can find elsewhere in the Côte d'Azur."
