The name “Vulkan” comes from the volcano brewery in Mendig, which leads the operation of the restaurant. From 12 to 2 pm there is also a lunch table with changing dishes. After a very short waiting period we had a nice place in the sun. The service was promt and very nice. The food was really fantastic and with under 60€ an appetizer, 2x main course, 2x dessert 2 drinks was the price-performance ratio completely fine. We like to come back

Yesterday was there with accompaniment for the first time and although we had not reserved we got another table. It was well visited and all staff were very friendly, always smiled and were attentive. The food was very good. Very nicely dressed, quickly finished and very tasty. I was very surprised and very satisfied. It must be. Keep going. We'll be back.

"Schöne Hotel Anlage. Leider nicht überall das Flair vom Schloss zu spüren. Das Restaurant wunderschön gestaltet, gehobenes Ambiente, bequeme Sitzgelegenheiten. Ein Traum. Glück, wenn man da einen Tisch erwischt. Der angrenzende Wintergarten hat weniger Flair, etwas ungemütlicher, je nach Jahreszeit durch offene Tür kühl. Man hat etwas das Gefühl 1. Und 2. Klasse im Zug. Die Terasse am Restaurant bei warmen Sommerwetter ein idyllischer Ort. Das Essen, egal was man isst, ein kulinarisches Gedicht. Sehr gute Küche, absolut zu empfehlen. Das Frühstücksbuffet sehr umfangreich und richtig gut. Der Service im Restaurant klasse, immer freundlich, kann bei Allergikern gut beraten zu den Gerichten. Ein großes Lob an das Team. Ebenso sehr nette Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption, die beim Empfang alles gut erklären. Unser Zimmer war im Spa Haus, Erdgeschoss. Leider kein Flair vom Schloss zu spüren. Die Fenster zum Eingangsbereich hin, so daß jeder automatisch rein schaut, wenn man nicht das Lamellen Rollo runter lässt. lässt man es runter ist es dunkel und ungemütlich und man fühlt sich eingeengt. Schade. Badezimmer Fenster zum Sauna Durchgang hin, da blieb nur Rollo unten lassen. Was wir echt ungünstig fanden, war das es in dem Doppelzimmer nur einen Sessel gab. Eine zweite Sitzgelegenheiten war ein harter Holzstuhl am Schreibtisch. Wollte man gemütlich beieinander sitzen war das nur auf dem Bett sitzend möglich. In einem Sterne Hotel hätte ich mir 2 gemütliche Sitzgelegenheiten gewünscht. Vom Flur gelangte man auf eine tolle Terrasse mit bequemen Liegen. Freudig nahmen wir Platz. Das Glück war nur von kurzer Dauer. Nach 10 min mussten wir den Bereich verlassen, das sei Spa, nur im Bademantel, für Sauna Gäste erlaubt. Nirgends Hinweise dazu, weder in Gästemappe noch an der Terrassentür, das dies in normaler Kleidung nicht erlaubt ist. Enttäuschend, das es keine ähnlichen Erholungsbereiche für Gäste ohne Sauna Ambitionen gibt. Wohin dann im Hotel, wenn man nicht in den Gastronomie Bereich möchte. Im Flur im Sessel sitzen (da läuft ständig jemand vorbei. Vor der Haustür auf der Bank neben dem Aschenbecher (wenig gemütlich). Dennoch gibt es einen gemütlichen Fleck, eine wunderbare Ruhe Oase, die urige Bibliothek im Schloss. Herrliches Ambiente mir gemütlichen Ledersesseln und vielen interessanten Büchern. Mein Lieblingsort in diesem Hotel. Zum Schloss gehört laut Hotelplan ein großer Park mit Villa. Dieser war jedoch nicht zugänglich, durch ein großes Tor versperrt. Sicher ein Hotel was für Tagungen, Hochzeiten, Events und für Sauna Fans sehr empfehlenswert ist, ansonsten kommt es wahrscheinlich drauf an, was man für ein Zimmer und in welchem Gebäude man zugeteilt bekommt. Was positiv ist, das es auch wenn Feiern sind, in den Zimmern angenehm ruhig ist. Von der Lage her gut, das man viele Ausflugsziele und den Rhein schnell erreicht."

"We like to go on November 1st. Holiday extended in two ways and a weekend. Breakfast was back a long time. On the way to A61 there was a birthday photo of my husband and the automark. The appetite wasn't over us, so bad it wasn't. A short time later we went to Maria Laach. If there's lunch, now! It was 13:30. The Seehotel has just arrived. This is very nice directly at Laacher Lake and the monastery with its great fermentation (Tolles Video s. [here link] . Upon arrival, the restaurant was only closed for new guests. When we told the friendly receptionist that we still wish for a little lunch and not coffee and cake, we were still delighted. The complex is well maintained and clean. But it's probably here. Not much happened at the beginning of the 1990s. Somehow I never like this style, but it's a matter of taste. Carpet in the restaurant, yes. The tables are perfectly covered with reinforced tablecloths, napkins and flowers. In service only well-trained men of experienced age, with name tag and formal service clothing. Rarely we experienced such an experienced and well-trained men's league in the restaurant. Routinized and kindly greeted us, gave the open menu, offered an aperitif. Since we had to drive a bit, we stayed at this lunch in 1 bottle of Rhodius mineral water, 0.75 l € 5,90. This time without an appetizer. In the evening there was a detailed menu on the program. There were two types of bread and salt butter. The dark bread tasted very good and was juicy. But the baguette just before Zwieback. I opted for: Hirschragoût in red wine and juniper sworn to Speckkohl (exchanged in red cabbage and melted potato block €25.50). My husband chose: Friedfilets from the Eifel trout on lemons tomato butter and roasted onion potato pure, with colorful vegetables shifted € 25.50. It took a little longer (maybe the kitchen team had lunch, the other guests were already ready with food, then our dishes were served on well preheated plates. The big shots of the Stag-ragout are cheated. The court was very clear. Deer ragout The deer meat is unfortunately very hard and unfortunately also somewhat cooled. That didn't save the warm plates. The sauce is very good and classically seasoned. For the sauce I would have liked the option "Additional cage" (as recently described by Lavandula von Erfurt). The paddock was nicely loose and good, but unfortunately also small. The red herb was ok, but I don't give it because of its too soft consistency. In principle, I only refresh red herbs. My husband had made the better choice. 2 slightly grounded and golden yellow fried trout fillets, dressed on the puree. Friedfilets from the Eifel trout The vegetables still bite. There is also a light herbal soup. That was harmonious and good. While the food is unfortunately not the question whether everything is good. We had to draw attention to numbers several times. And only then came the question of our satisfaction. I've only got "press the nose". But my husband noticed that the deer was very hard. Answer: “It was an old deer at the time.” This answer should probably be fun, but it was not the same as the otherwise sovereign type of servicemen. We were kindly accepted. When we left the restaurant, we were allowed to look at the cakes and cake counters that are now well filled. Our stopover was okay, but not anymore. Some weaknesses are, however, particularly the price-performance ratio very cloudy."
