"Overall food was OKish but the products which were clearly not prepared on the premises were very poor The chicken pie would have benefited from having some chicken in it!! Lovely pastry and flavoured sauce but where was the chicken I sent the first one back and the second one was only marginally better Needed some solid pieces The flan which was clearly made and brought in had pastry that was more like concrete and couldn't be eaten Really disappointing"

Got lost getting there, but was worth every minute of the drive, wonderful setting, lovely warm relaxed atmosphere and very efficient service. Good quality, well presented food.

In addition to the table with a waterfront view of the Hamble, the absolutely delicious Sunday roast was worth the drive from Southsea. The dessert was exceptional too and the staff very attentive and informative.

Our first time here but definitely not our last, lovely cosy pub, very polite, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food, I only wish it was a bit was closer to us as would definitely be our local to be used on a regular basis.

We had booked a table and were seated quickly, and the pub wasn't too busy for a cold January Friday night. The food was good but we had finished our meal and had asked for the dessert menu. No-one came back to us with it or to ask again if we wanted anything else (drinks etc), so lost income to the pub. Otherwise, it was a good night with good food and good atmosphere, but service a bit intermittent.
