Popped in for a drink to shelter from the rain. It was quiet, just two couples at the bar. Usually in bars in Cherbourg the staff are friendly and bring ones drinks to the table. This barman was not friendly. They also were the dearest drinks we had in our short break

We recently had food here on a few occasions. A simple menu so ,easy to make a choice. The food is cooked well and is fresh. No problem when making a request for the way you wanted it cooked. Desserts are also very nice. Staff are very friendly. Also reasonably priced.

A few friends and I sailed to Cherbourg for the weekend and went to what was reputed to be the No.1 Rugby bar in town. We went in to watch the South Africa v Wales game and were basically told to F off as they were watching F1 Qualifying. 3 people were watching their 2 TVs. Forget their supposed 'Rugby ' credentials. Just another BS Irish bar.

While my husband had a nice enough steak and chips my salad was a disgrace. A huge plate of chopped up lettuce, 4 slices of a tomato with the top and bottom slices comprising 2 of those and a slice of smoked salmon on top of this. This does not meet the description of any salad I have ever paid money for. When I said as much to the barman he just shrugged. A complete waste of money. We were heading to the ferry from La Rochelle and nowhere else was open before 19.00.but we should have stayed going and had the food on board. I cannot possibly recommend a pub like this as no place back in Ireland would be let away with daylight robbery like this.
