Excellent self checkin and checkout service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. A ten minute drive to Oakham which is a picturesque village with plenty shops, cafes and restaurants.

Had a superb dinner with 8 friends. Service was excellent, as was the food, which had been obviously made with love. Great beer too, in fact so good we went back for breakfast and are already booking next year. Fantastic

Fabulous pub with just brilliant food and beer. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and just tremendous to find such a unique pub curing it’s own food. The Kings Arms is a gem even in this wonderfully blessed locality with many great pubs to choose from. Less famous than the Olive Branch and others perhaps but equally as good in my view.. The food is a consistent high standard and the pub itself is a lovely welcome wrap around experience, especially in the winter... The menus are great, varied, all home cooked, not microwaved factory options.. Game is usually featured and of special note are the Christmas pre- ordered lunches/dinners.. Try them they are truly great with all courses catered for with impossible amounts of food.. We usually finish it off on Boxing day..

Arrived with a party of 9 to what looked like an empty pub. Only to be very rudely told by the lady front of house we would have to wait approximately an hour to put a food order in. She then changed their mind and said if we could give our choices immediately we would be served. Food was good. But how we were spoken to was not acceptable. We could overhear another couple being treated the same way. When we came to pay we had to call out to get the bar man to come to the bar. Never been spoken to as rudely when out paying for a service. The front of house lady seemed to think this was fine and how she spoke to the waitress and other customers was similar. We will not be returning.

We have started to travel to the King’s Arms as an annual pilgrimage to a relaxing, special place with incredible food, hospitality and rooms. We have just returned from this year’s trip very full and chilled. I’m nice again we have been looked after so well. The food is the best we’ve ever had. So much care and attention put into the menu and ingredients. Hospitality is the best as well. We messed up quite a bit this time with bookings but we were looked after and finally managed a superb stay. For us, this overnight stay with the evening meal and breakfast is like being tucked up in your favourite blanket and fed your favourite food! Pure indulgence. We will be back next year .! We had heard great things about the King's Arms, so we were looking forward to a special meal. On arrival, we were greeted in a friendly manner and given a sample of the local beer to try. The beer was good. The menu was interesting. Lots of game, which we don't normally see. However, meat is not really my thing, so I chose herrings, followed by halibut. The herring starter was decent, if a little costly. The halibut however was dreadful. I received what appeared to be the thin tail end of a fillet, barely more than an ounce of flesh, which was over done and served with three small potatoes cut in half and a bland sauce. Stayed here for one night with friends. We ate in the pub. Halibut was delicious, as was the squabbit pie. We found it strange that the bar did not have any vodka on a Saturday night??? We booked 4 double rooms and they varied in size from cosy to a large room with a seating area. I paid for the rooms and food drinks before we left the pub on Saturday evening. We wanted an early start as we had far to travel As we checked out the following morining, I was accosted by a member of staff and told there was still a food and drink bill to be settled. We stayed here for two night in a lovely clean room. It was so peacful and quiet at night. Bliss. We took the dinner, bed and breakfast option. Tis gave us a choice from teh A la Carte menu for a fixed price. It was very good value for money and the choice of food was excellent. The restaurant is well know for serving game foods, so if you do not like game, then the selection might be a bit limited for you. However, if like me, you like game then this menu is to die for. I was so spoilt for choice. Brakfast was yummy and the home smoked bacon was sensational. (So much so, we bought some to take away with us). The staff were very friendly and kind.
