"The restaurant is located in one of the best areas of Hamburg - 5 mins from the Alster Lake and 10 mins walk from the centre. It doesn't matter whether you come in spring/summer or in the depths of winter - the service and welcome you get is always warm and genuine. The food is excellent and traditionally Italian - but not touristic - thankfully you don't get buckets of sauce. Just good clean well prepared dishes - starters Veal tongue with lovely sweet sauce, carpaccio classic with Parmesan shavings and leaves or Shrimp salad - lovely flavours and light preparing you for the main dishes. Main course - Veal Fillet with truffle shavings or any of the fish dishes are always lovely. Trust in the waiter and ask them for some suggestions on wines - never been disappointed and nearly always end up taking two bottles home (discoumted from the restaurant price).Simple Tiramisu just like Rome or Milan or home baked tarts for dessert as cooked by Mama. Book in advance especially on the weekend.I keep coming back - when I lived locally, when I moved to other side of Hamburg and still now I have moved to Amsterdam - I just keep returning for great service and quality food. Recommended whether you are an expat or a Hamburger"

Ich habe La Bottega schon öfter besucht. Das Essen ist durchweg gut, jedoch lässt der Service leider zu wünschen übrig. Obwohl es sehr nah gelegen ist, hält mich der unzureichende Service davon ab, häufiger dort zu essen.

I have eaten at La Bottega several times and have never been disappointed. The waiter is really friendly, and the food just excellent. Pasta with truffles are very delicious, and the price is truly correct. It's always a pleasure to eat there

We have spent many eves there when lived in Hamburg , drinking amazing wines if you love Tignanello, SantSofia or other good very special italian you wont be disappointed. Menu varies , but veal tongue still remains favourite, loup de meer or lamb cutlett..

Für uns zählt La Bottega mit zu den besten Italienern in Hamburg! Authentische italienische Küche, gemütliches Ambiente und sehr aufmerksamer Service. Die hausgemachten Gnocchis und auch die Ravioli mit Trüffel sind unschlagbar gut. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne.

Sehr unfreundlicher und unsympathischer Besitzer, der Leute von seinem Eingang verscheucht unter dem falschen Vorwand, dass man seinen älteren Gäste den Weg versperrt. Offensichtlich sind hier nur betuchte ältere Leute willkommen. Echt schade dass es noch Orte in Hamburg gibt, wo man als jüngerer lockerer Typ so sehr zu spüren bekommt, wie unerwünscht man in anscheinend manchen Leuten gegenüber ist.

Liebe Hamburger, es tut mir sehr leid zu sagen aber wir 5 Mädels sind bei diesem Hamburger Italiener vom Chef persönlich aufgefordert worden, nicht mehr so laut zu lachen an einem Donnerstag Abend!!! Das habe ich in über 30 Jahren bei keinem Hamburger Italiener erlebt!!! Fairer Weise muss ich erwähnen, dass das Essen gut ist...aber wer will schon zwangsweise schweigenderweise beim Italiener versauern???
