"Twice before have I given you my opinion about La Voile. And once again l feel the urge to share my latest experience with you. Bernard and his lovely wife have done some upgrading to the place but still managed to maintain the good, old cosyness and style and are now better prepared to serve their clients wonderful meals no matter the weather. In addition to the quite unique mast and sails " protecting" their guests from the hot summer sun and to a degree from winds, a sliding roof is now in place, making the restaurant fit for any weather conditions. The same familiar face of the " gentilles organizateurs" bears a strong proof of La Voile being a nice place to work, and the crew never fails to make you feel welcome and they will take good care of you. And so do the cooks!! We chose Avocado and Shrimp tartar for entre. Delectable, succulent and wonderful fresh with a bottle of good rose'. Our main course was Filet de Beuf, medium rare with those small, tasty potatoes and what l claim is the best peppersauce in Provence. Impeccable with red Minuty. For dessert : Tiramisu. Light and fresh. We will be back next week for sure!!!Tore Y Samuelsen"

Wonderful food, wonderful crew, beautiful setting and lovely atmosphere. We keep going back to Bernard and his romantic place on the Nartelle beach because we know he will never let us down. Impeccable, plain and simple! Give it a try, you won't regret it. Tore Y S

Spent a lovely day at La Voile. Very expensive but worth the treat. Hired sunbeds all day and had lunch here. The care taken by staff upon entry was excellent from the sunbeds to the restaurant. The food was lovely despite being on the expensive side but the setting was beautiful, so it was worth it. Would definitely return. Visualizza piatti

Maybe the best beach on La Nartelle, near St Maxime, I know the beach and the restaurant for years, the level has always been very good to excellent, but this year I saw even more improvements. The beach and bar, ..., staff are all extremely nice. The food is excellent, the view from the restaurant is exceptional, definitively a place I would recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch. Starter tartare if avocado and crab, could not taste crab. Main , fillet steak, large piece but did not look like a fillet , tasted ok with pepper sauce but served with cold chips, how do you make cold chips? No other veg, a few green beans would make all the difference. Lovely situation over looking beach, full of lovely families enjoying lunch, let's hope their food was not cold.

A very personal and professional approch. After a warm welcome you get your beach beds and they've drink service while you relax at the beach. In the restaurant the suggestions change every day and they have a great choice of food. The food is well served and very fresh. Prices are between 15-25 euro for starters and 25-55 euro for main dishes. A few times a week there is life music wich creates a nice atmosphere.A must do in Saint-Maxime. Visualizza piatti

Most likely I should not tell you this; but I really wanted grilled prawns on this day at La Voile on the Plage la Nartelle, and, despite not being on the menu, the elegant hostess made sure I got them. A wonderful lunch and superb wine followed by a stroll on the beach and a relaxing coffee afterwards. We were there for the last few days of Les Voiles de St. Tropez and from La Voile one can view the sails with the aid of binoculars, so a good choice for a lunch away from the crowds.

As far as I am concerned, this is the most elegant place on the Plage la Nartelle.Professional but somewhat cold welcome by the hostess (owner?). Spacy beach area with good quality sunbeds and sofaes.Even late in September the resto was crowded for lunch - 2 seatings, and we picked the last one (14.30). No more left of the recommended fish dish (St Pierre) we wanted, so we went for a 'Back of cod with champagne sauce' and a 'Marinated tuna' variant - both served with a pumpkin puree (I think..) and garlic-baked potatos. Delicious - the sauces were just fantastic! The dessert, 'cafe gourmand', was impeccable. The waiters were busy and uninterested. To summarize: Elegant beach resto and excelle...

"It was the best of meals, The second, not so much. On the Wednesday evening we explained that we needed one gluten free meal. We were immediately handed over to a charming lady, who we took to be the proprietor. She assured us that she would confer with the chef. We ordered a “coquelet roti” with a cream and grape sauce and a fillet steak served without sauces. Chips were covered in gluten but the chef proposed a salad for the steak and the “coquelet” came with a Gratin Dauphinoise. All the food was delicious. The chicken was soft and sweet the sauce had a depth of flavour aided and abeted by the small bursts of sweet grape juice from the grapes within it. The steak was perfect; maximum of flavour from the seared outside, maximum of soft juiciness from the tender pink interior. Dessert was a fruit crumble that had not had the crumble added, pronounced delicious, and a crème broulee. The crème was not a traditional baked vanilla egg custard. It tasted like a flour based preparation and was devoid of vanilla. All in all, the service had been attentive and the food mostly great. We determined that we would return for a second meal and looked forward to it.Mistake! Sunday evening, the waitress remembered us, and promised to check for gluten free food. She checked the Champaign sauce that was served with the Salmon. We could not have it. She was not aware that the rice, the dauphinoise and the chips all contained gluten. She suggested salad. We said that would be fine. The Dorade Royale, one of my favourite fish was sold out but they could offer Sea Bass. O.K., that would do. The salad delivered with the dry salmon was a simple bag mix of leaves, not the fresh mixed salad it had been four days before. It had brown stalks and tasted stale. The fish was undoubtedly the worst cooked fish I have ever been served. It had clearly been laid on a metal tray and placed under an electric grill. It had not been turned or moved until it was served. Consequently, the top skin was like leather. It defied my efforts with the serrated knife provided to cut through it. I had to prize it off to get to the very dry fish beneath. A simple glaze of oil would have ensured that the skin became crispy and a delicious part of the fish. It would also have ensured that the (Chef?) remembered to turn the fish under the grill. When I turned the fish on the plate, the lower side skin was a soggy mess where all the juices had soaked it through. Scraping it off, the second fillet was edible, despite the attentions of the chef. We told the waitress what was wrong with our food. She said she would tell the chef. We don’t know if she did. We did not see him."
