"We arrived at 1:30 PM on Saturday for a late lunch and found the restaurant nearly empty. We ordered the small fish and chips, a burger, a steak pie, and the mixed grill. The meals were delicious—the fish was fresh, and the burger was juicy. The steak pie was generous with the meat, and the mixed grill was enjoyable as well. One minor area for improvement would be the chips, which could have been crispier. Overall, I would rate the service as a 5 and the location as a 5."

"We had been visiting The Grey Horses for about a year each week and were happy to pay for the average and expensive food as it is the only pub in the village serving food. The staff were previously quite friendly and efficient. The owner/manager started to do the waiting on and that is when things changed. He was rude, unfriendly and very unwelcoming the last few times we were in. The food which was previously ok now left a bad taste…. Please avoid- unless you fit in with the local clique"

"From our arrival for a pre booked table the evening before, we were greeted with there is no booking in the book,from one of the girls serving, note Jill was not here tonight.The girl who should have booked it was not working Friday night, so could not be quizzed. We did see another table that was free and asked if we could take it, so told yes. We ordered some drinks and took some menus to peruse and after a while I had to ask for someone to take our order. We were told that some one would come when they had finished serving other customers there meals. Starters and mains ordered for the five of us,still no one came with the cutlery, so I went to get some,as the starters came,all very good,every one enjoyed them, as is the usual standards here. We waited a while for the starters to be cleared then waited and was about to go and ask if there was a problem,when at 21:30 for our mains to arrive much too long from arriving at 20:00. Then after eating our mains it was really too late to concider any deserts.Once again the food quality was very good and all enjoyed their meals. Asked when we came to pay if everything was alright we said it was not, we thought waiting for one and a half hours was way too long. No apologies given. We noticed that the kitchen seemed to be light on staff this night, also the girls serving seemed much too pre occupied with their phones than on customer service. Jill was not in attendance this evening, as we have noticed previously standards do seem to drop when she is not there. This is real shame as this evening was booked on our recommendation and fell short on the experience we were expecting. Hence our friends do not wish pay again for a similar experience. If there was an underlying issue,nothing was explained and no apologies given. Come on Jill we know you are capable of maintaining the high standards we have come to know."

"Lovely Olde Worlde comfortable restaurant and pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They have a extensive menu and a daily specials menu. The food is excellent, we 'll prepared and presented. The cost of food and drinks are medium to highly priced, but we 'll worth it. We will definitely be returning to the Black Lion at some time in the near future. I would strongly recommend it."
