"Had a delicious lunch yesterday at this very friendly place. The open crab sandwich and panini were very tasty. There was a large selection of herbal teas and I can certainly recommend the lemongrass and ginger. My husband enjoyed his 2 flat whites. Both the tea and coffee are locally sourced in Newcastle. The two homemade cakes we had were very yummy. We sat outside with our dog who loved the fuss they made of her and they even brought her her own water bowl. All in all a great find and we will certainly be back when visiting the area in the future."

"If you 're into the whole busy, family beach visit then this place is for you. They 've recently added a Greggs and Co-op around the other side of where the chippy is (behind it). As well as a quaint little cafe on the corner. You can 't miss it, it 's as you drive into the car park, on the right side. There 's a free park for the kids, a nice green for the dogs to run around, with seating placed around the edges and near the long (life guards) building, it 's the one with the taller part of the building towards the seafront. The beach is pretty much always kept clean as well as the hard paved concrete walking area alongside it. You also get a great view out to sea, minus the few wind turbines. Dogs are allowed around the area and there 's even a mobile, self service dog wash to get all that sand off before getting back into the car. There 's plenty of accessible parking too, just as you enter the car park, located right next to the cafe. There are also public toilets located in the 'long building ' on the opposite side of the cafe chippy. As if you 're walking towards the sea. Pretty sure there 's a small charge to use them. The chip shop service is good, but it can get really busy, so be prepared to wait. The food is 'alright '. It 's not the best chippy and the prices just seem to be forever climbing, but it 's okay. If you want cheaper cans bottles of pop, I 'd suggest using the co-op. There 's also an ice cream van that usually parks up near the accessible parking area. "I had a fantastic time here last weekend with my partner! From the start, the place had a vibrant atmosphere and great vibes, with busy and friendly people. It’s not our first time here, and they always make us feel very welcome. The food is tasty, the wine is great, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The whole place felt well-organized and inviting. And the best part? The prices were amazing for what we got. I definitely recommend checking it out!"

"Cafe One is a local cafe at the end of a row of terraced houses in a very industrial area. From the outside, it’s the last place you would expect to find a range of vegan options. A good range too see photo for menu Jan 2022. Staff really knew all about requirements too to the extent they told me I couldn’t have a roll because they had milk in, but the sliced bread was dairy free. I had a vacon sandwich, with chips, and a big home made flapjack, which was lovely. The other half had a Linda Mc fish cake. They even had vegan mayo and salad cream! There is a separate frier for the vegan stuff and they take gluten free seriously too they even have a separate toaster. Impressive effort and knowledge. A lot of larger, more expensive places could learn a lot from the staff at Cafe One. So friendly too. Parking is on a residential street right outside. There’s not many vegan options round here so this was a very welcome find. Updated from previous review on 2022 01 28"

"Considering we booked a table in advance I was disappointed to be told we had to wait as there was non available, eventually was given a table but no menu had to look around to find one. We ordered starters and main course then waited and waited until the starters appeared but NO CUTLERY I had to ask at the bar for some we then waited another age to have the dishes removed then another wait for the main course to arrive but guess what NO CUTLERY, then another wait to have the dishes removed and order some sweets after another long wait the sweets turned up and guess what NO CUTLERY once again a search for a member of staff to get some spoons. The food was good but the service!!!! Staff training seems to be lacking"
