I attempted to place a takeout order, but the phone line was consistently busy. This seems to be a common occurrence at this establishment. After waiting for half an hour, I decided to give up and dine elsewhere.

I go here quite alot its the best chinese i have had in a long time. The chicken balls are amazing. They not greasy. The spare ribs are lush. The meat just falls off. I would definitely recommend this chinese. You wont be disappointed

Just used this Chinese for ther first time tonight. Delivery was prompt even though we took a while to get through as they were obviously busy. Prime time Saturday evening. Whilst staying in a local inn, we arrived back late and need to find food, using trip advisor we gave the Lantern Garden ago and where not disappointed. We had 4 meals and a large rice, the food was well cooked, hot and tasty and priced the same as what we would pay at home. Definitely worth the 4+ stars We had, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, BBQ ribs and chicken chow mein with egg fried rice.

After 38 years of dining at a different Chinese takeaway in Roath, my family and I were disappointed when the owners sold the business and the food quality declined. With some hesitation, we decided to try Lantern Garden based on their good reviews and proximity to our home. To our delight, the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a chicken lantern box for £9, which included fried rice, chips, chicken balls, sweet and sour chicken, mini spring rolls, and a curry sauce. The food was delivered hot (only delivery available at the moment) for an additional fee of £1.50. We will definitely be returning as regular customers.

I ordered two salt and chili boxes which arrived quickly, but unfortunately they were the wrong ones. I called the restaurant and was told the correct food would be brought to me. After waiting a while, I called back and was informed that the restaurant was closing. I was told my food was not on the way and that the food I had was now cold from waiting. I had placed my order at 8:30 and by 9:30, the manager said she would personally deliver my food after closing. However, after waiting until 11PM, it became clear that she had lied and my food was never delivered. I spent £30 on food that was incorrect and cold.
