"Outstanding!!! What an exceptional place. Must confess we did go a little bit enthuiastic with the dishes! Surroundings were clean,quiet and cosy. Not at all pretentious. You dont need all the frills and retro spills etc when the food is this good! Started with scallops, arrancini and the wonderfull black pudding Scotch egg. To share between the two of us I hasten to add!Heaven!! All cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. For mains we happened to as if they had a tomahawk. To which the reply was Not sure, I 'll have to ask the boys Well the boys said YES! OMG!!! Out came this joint of beef!! Perfectly charred on the outside but so succulent and so moist and flavoursome inside. Genius!! Thats the knowledge level of the Boys!! The other thing is locally sourced products. No bred in Ireland,Scotland.Killed in the same, taken to East Anglia to be cut, packed then off to Wales for sale. A la Tesco etc!! Same for seafood no M5 the M4 from Cornwall!! Rant over!! No way was there any space for dessert but...the dog had the rib bone and hes still going at it!! Got a BBQ take away. My god have a look at £25 worth in the pics!! Will defo be taking further trips West to dine and buy at our new favorite butcher and fishmonger. Finally shout out to Sara Jane!! Wonderfull host. Witty,charming and some great ink!!! Lol. "I can confidently say that this restaurant is the best in Pembrokeshire. My family and a few friends came here to celebrate my anniversary, and from the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted by the friendly owner and waiter. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with stunning views over the harbor. The drink menu offered a nice selection for both adults and children. Our drinks arrived promptly and we were impressed by the presentation of our starters. After finishing our appetizers, the waiter cleared our plates quickly. Our main courses arrived shortly after and they did not disappoint - they were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family, and I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful evening. x"

"Well first of all arriving to the hotel it looks like an average house with a lots of car park, apart from the sign on the side of the road that says Heywood Spa nothing special for a 4.6 star hotel.The stuff is absolutely amazing, feels like a family run “posh wannabe” hotel.We had the executive room (210), the double bed had 2 single mattress, ripped wallpapers, a really noisy old school A/C and a little TV like a monitor in the middle, shower has a really really poor water pressure, you have to be straight under it, the walls are very thin you can hear people sneezing 4 rooms next to you and hear people checking in the reception even though it’s pretty far away. The balcony had 2 metal chairs without pillows and a tiny table. The spa is another downside of the hotel as the sauna not working 5 years ago as seeing now the reviews, still not working, the hot tub has loads of chemicals in it it’s literally making a bubble bath into the pool after 10 minutes. Pool is very cold and pretty small as well as the hot tub. Once you finished you have to walk through the restaurant unless you’d like to use the changing room what is literally just a room with a lightbulb and chair, no heating or anything obviously.Restaurant and the bar looks nice but a Vodka/Coke ended up £8 and a Corona lager £5.50. The breakfast is pretty good if it’s included the £200 a night price but I definitely wouldn’t pay for it separately as you have many options in Tenby. The lunch is looking good but way over seasoned to make it look nice and it’s really not worth £25. Pasta one side of the plate was taste like English mustard and nothing else. The tip is 10% what is fair but I’d personally pay double tip for the service and half price for the food. You have many Italian restaurants for half a price with awesome food on the beach.This hotel is definitely not 4.6 star, maybe 3 because of the little Spa but way overpriced and overrated.I’m not being picky, but for £200 a night in one of Tenby’s most expensive 4.6 star Hotel people have expectations."

"Had Sunday lunch here today with my family, every meal was cooked to perfection, piping hot food and all the meals came out at the same time. The roast beef was to die for and my wife’s steak was literally melt in your mouth, I’ve paid far higher prices than this elsewhere for food that simply does not even compare to the quality of yours. Fast and friendly service and would highly recommend. We will be visiting again. Thank you to all at the Royal Oak, you smashed it"

"We were staying upstairs and decided to give the cafe and cellar bar a try. Loved the cellar bar! Amazing! The cafe was lovely but we were a little disappointed at the breakfast menu, all we fancied was a bacon or sausage sandwich. We were surprised there was no typical fried breakfast items on the menu. Overall very nice, we had the Welsh rarebit which was lovely but lacked any salad or garnish on the side. It wouldn’t put us off coming again but maybe not for breakfast."
