"A great find. We had a large party, ten adults plus two young children. One member from our party went in person earlier in the day to make a reservation. When we arrived that evening they did not have our reservation. They were aloof and...unhelpful at first, but after the shock (and horror) of 12 Americans descending upon their restaurant wore off they stepped up and took care of us. Unfortunately, or to our fortune, they made room for us on the patio by asking two tables of diners to move in order to accommodate us. The patio was pleasant. The one side of the table had a booth with pillows, which is always good for the kids and the older travelers in our group. The heaters were on and despite it being 40 degrees and raining we were very comfortable. Our waiter was kind, patient, and prompt. Their were a few small issues with ordering as apparently the kitchen was unable or unwilling to make adjustments to the menu. We wanted an order of just mozzarella sticks. The kitchen was unable to do this despite the fact that they had an two appetizer samplers with mozzarella sticks included with them, as listed on the menu. We also wanted plain pasta with just an alfredo sauce or no sauce and we were also told ' 'no they could not do just a plain white alfredo sauce, but they would be able to do a completely plain pasta just pasta (but they eventually caved and gave the six year old pasta with butter). They also do NOT have pizza on Mondays, despite listing several pizzas on their menu, and no mention of not serving them on Mondays. So what was good? The Garlic Green Bean appetizer was very good, amble amounts of garlic. The Chicken Skewer (Brochette de la Poulet) was delicious. Chicken cooked nicely and the dipping sauce (maybe a Bordelaise) was tremendous and full of flavor. Risotto Poulet was very well prepared with tender chicken and a nice cream sauce. And I heard rave review about the Linguine a al Carbonara ordered by two of our diners. The not so good. I ordered the Risotto aux Gambons. My risotto was undercooked and the shrimp was overcooked. The risotto had little flavor. I also ordered an appetizer with fresh crusty bread, cooked cherry tomatoes, an olive tapenade, marinated peppers, and something green... I do not remember what the menu said it was. The tomatoes were very flavorful and sweet, the peppers were good as well. The tapenade was decent. The green stuff, while not terrible, was just there . It tasted like mushy peas and had the consistency of pureed baby food. That being said, all in all, it was a good appetizer. My only other qualm is that the only item on the Kids Menu is a hamburger. The back of the restaurant (which is typical of many French restaurants) is a bar with loud music (but good music) and a foosball table. The patio is full of cigarette smoke, but again, typical of most French restaurants. The skinny: The waiters and staff are pleasant and accommodating, just give them some respect try your French out, they will respond favorably and in very good English (as will most people and establishments). Try a chicken dish from the menu. Do not hope for pizza on Mondays. Do not expect modifications to your order."
