"I booked a room after a very long day hiking and some failed plans to hike on the higher grounds. The good sides are that the hotel is very centrally located in the small village of Le Buet. It is surprisingly clean compared with the...overall look and feel. But. The room I stayed in must have been renovated last in the 70's judging by the decor. The wallpapers were hanging. There was an undesrcibable smell in the room. There was a 1cm hole between the door and it's frames on the lower part of it, so needless to say everything that went on in the corridor could be heard. And so in the adjacent rooms even discussion with a rather normal volume. When I checked in I could smell a clear scent of alcohol from the receptionist, which also seemed to affect her job somewhat. A one star place, yes, but for 58€/night this was way at the bottom of the list of the cheap hiking hotels I've visited,"

"Stopped here for lunch on beautiful sunny skiing day. We decided to wait for table outside so stood in line for 1 hour, this is mostly out of their control except clearing tables could have been quicker as they did not have enough staff. We...finally sat down but then we were politely asked if we could move table so we did. The overstretched waitress then proceeded to serve the customers who took our table (who had only been waiting a short while). When we asked for service the waitress was very rude and told us this was not a snack bar and no apology. The food was actually really nice but we won’t be returning due to the attitude of the waiting staff and not managing the tables well. I don’t understand why the restaurants don’t have adequate staff on the busiest week of the year, they would surely make more money and improve service !"

"One of the best refuges we stayed in on TMB! The dorm room is basically just a barn but it's warm, has plenty of space and the mattresses were comfortable. Showers were good and the toilets were clean. The staff were really friendly despite being absolutely run off their feet serving food to refuge guests and campers. The best thing about this refuge is the food dinner was incredible with big portions and super fresh ingredients. The vegetarian option was good too. Breakfast was awesome with plenty of options and good coffee."
