"Was recommended this place by a friend and we and our friends thought we would like a change, we thought we would give it a whirl. I sent a message via FB on Monday to book and bless they responded despite Monday being their day...off. Anyway, booked for four adults and one dog. Very warm welcome from Kurt who greeted us outside. Weather lovely and warm so sat outside and a bowl of water was provided for Grace the dog. Small menu but a nice choice. Excellent portions, could not finish mine. Very friendly and welcoming. Good for visiting friends. Garlic prawns were to die for as were the chips with the lovely steak. I made the mistake of eating too much bread as was dipping in the garlic butter, hence I struggled with the chips and salad but steak was demolished as the pepper sauce was lovely. The OH 's moules were pronounced perfect but he could not finish them either. Shame we were the only ones eating there. Other people were just having drinkies. Overall, I would recommend and look forward to eating there again. Outside tables have a 'rustic ' ' charm as they are fashioned from the wooden wheels cables come on. There are some things I would recommend to improve. PS the toilet was immaculate important to me! We went on a Saturday so would like to try mid week next time."

Kurt and Ellen are excellent hosts. The food is always super, and very generous portion sizes. The monthly fish and chip evenings are excellent, with homemade tartaric acid sauce and homemade muddy peas.

Visits with family living nearby. Kurt and Ellen were very friendly and the food was delicious both me and man had the same meal both times we visited. The locals were very welcoming and although the place was very busy on both occasions, Ellen and Kurt took their time to chat and check everything was fine. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

The menu is fairly small but the food they offer is excellent, they are new proprietors, and are testing the waters with their choices. There are around 5-6 choices of each course. I have spoken to my friends and all the feed back has been very good, this is local to me and we visit offen. Kirk and Ellen are very friendly, it's clean and tidy, lovely little restaurant and bar. They also do the buffet lunch which I haven't tried but again good feedback from my friends

We like this place so much, we re-visit. Friendly service, well cooked food and a really nice atmosphere. A warm welcome awaits. The menu is small, but food is cooked so very well. Masterful use of fresh herbs. A real hit for me is the...fish stew soup... fantastic!! Love the Moules Frites. The Garlic Mushroom starter is wonderful. We have never had a meal that has disappointed and between the two of us, and family members, have now worked through the menu. Would recommend booking beforehand to avoid disappointment as this venue is growing in popularity.

We ate here on evening and were so pleased with the quality, service and value that we decided to return the next evening, but unfortunately there was a music event and no food was being served. So it is worth checking out if they are...open before going there. That aside, the food is great, the lady who served us was really pleasant and welcoming, and the bill at the end represented excellent value. One piece of advice; the starters are very generous, so unless you're a big eater, try sharing one. desserts looked good but we were too full to attempt them. Recommended!

Fans of Belgian food and beer, this is the place to go when you are in these parts of the Central Brittany. Like so many great places here, Le Saint Jacques is lost in the midst of fiends and forests, a few minutes only from the N164 or...Plemet. The bar area is however with locals singing at lunch and at weekends, French and expats and drinking together quite happy. Wide selection of Belgian beers on tap thanks to the owners Kurt and Ellen. The restaurant is simple, but quirkily decorated with polished old oak doors turned into tables. The menu is short but well filled with Belgian specialties, meatballs in tomato sauce, beef stew with dark beer or fish stew. The entrecôte is a thing of bea...

"Two Memorable Experiences at Restaurant Saint Antoine! We had the chance to visit Restaurant Saint Antoine in Plémet twice recently: the first time to celebrate Father's Day and the second to mark my parents' 60th birthday. On each visit, we have been delighted by the exceptional quality of the dining experience and the warm welcome from the staff! On Father's Day, we were seduced by the charming setting and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu was a real delight, showcasing top quality local produce. Each dish was magnificent and crafted with admirable finesse and creativity. A few weeks later, we chose Restaurant Saint Antoine to celebrate my parents' 60th birthday. Once again, we were not disappointed. The staff did everything possible to make this day unforgettable, letting us set up our decoration and even going so far as to personalize the paper menu and certain aspects of the meal to mark the event (buckwheat pancake chips, appetizers, cheese, birthday cakes… . The menu, varied and refined, pleased all the guests. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and we felt truly looked after. Restaurant Saint Antoine is undoubtedly one of the best gastronomic addresses in the region. Whether for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself, each visit is an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the whole team for these wonderful moments, we wish you all the best!"

"You could pass L'Escale as a truck stop, which it is, but this place attracts large number of locals and ex-Pats. The salad starters of the buffet are unusual things like whey and some amazing salads. It's hard not to pamper before you get your main course. Last time I sat right next to the pizza oven and regretted that I didn't order the pizza, so this time I was set to have one of the delicious freshly prepared pizzas (I usually eat no pizza, but this look). What a disappointment to learn that they do not always serve pizza and Friday are one of the days they do not (It is closed Friday night and so it is not worth starting the oven. Instead, you will get a selection of 3 main courses; Today there were rabbits, pork and seafood lasagna. My 3 friends chose wise and chose the rabbit. I chose the lasagna and regretted that I wasn't alone and saw two others I didn't interfere, but it would have been easy. The puddings were also a disappointment that they are stored in a cold closet, and you help yourself, they are just a little ordinary and tired my advice is to avoid Fridays because on my last visit in November the puddings were excellent one we had waiter service. Considering that half a liter of wine (red or rose, which seems strange), excellent cold appetizers from the buffet, lots of fresh bread, pudding and coffee, the 12 Euro price is a great value. The truck drivers and locals are all very good behavior and polite; it is so different than a UK truck stop and it is a great experience. The real difficulty is to find when it is open. Sure 12:00, but I think it's only open Mon Fri and not Friday night. Try it on a day when she serves her pizzas. I'll go back in two weeks and try again. But there are some other Les Routier truck stops in this area and undoubtedly throughout France."
