"We have visited many times before when it was called the Riviera, but this was our first time back in the area for a few years. It still remains one of our favourite places to eat. We went for breakfast, which was great value for money, and then returned in the evening. We all enjoyed our meals, the salads are huge! No room for pudding but they looked good. We look forward to our next visit. Great food, friendly staff and fair prices. Food: 5"

"After a day at the races this is the perfect restaurant to either celebrate your winnings or commiserate over your losses. The restaurant caters for a variety of diets, vegetarian and gluten free in our party and both were well looked after with a thorough knowledge of the dishes coming out of the kitchen. The food was excellent as was the service. It’s a little off the beaten track but well worth making the journey."

"Truly one of the best pubs in selsey! After a horrible experience during our stay at the cove park, we came here for a lunch to find some decent food and a good atmosphere. The staff were refreshingly friendly, accommodating and even were kind enough to squeeze us in for a last minute lunch despite being fully booked for the afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious and even with one of our children being a fussy eater, they accommodated our needs to find something he could eat. A fantastic family pub with so much to offer, it is so rare these days to find staff that make the effort to go above and beyond and at the fisherman’s joy we found exactly that. If you are staying at seal bay I would recommend giving them a visit if you want quality food for a fantastic price. Thank you for giving us the great end to our holiday that we so desperately needed. We will be returning! P.s the food was so delicious we didn’t have enough time to take photos before devouring!"

"We visited without a reservation and were told the only table we could have was a table for 2 outside, for a family of 4. Wanting to feed the kids asap we decided to stay as we only had an hour before we had to...leave anyway. Tables that she had said were all booked out, stayed free for the entire time we were there which was a shame to see. The food was very disappointing. We ordered a large selection of tapas and every single dish was so heavily salted that it wasn’t very enjoyable. The Spanish tortilla was far too salty we barely ate any of it. Calamari rings were so skinny that you ate more batter than squid! The cheesy garlic bread was overdone. Everything else was mediocre apart from the tzatziki which was tasty. Staff were pleasant but not particularly engaging apart from one lady who seemed quite friendly. Overall experience was very average and I would not recommend for someone looking for good, wholesome, fresh food."

"I haven't written a review in a while, but I have to say that Hannah and Lee have really stepped up their game at this restaurant. The shakes are still delicious, and they have added their own baked scones, tray bakes, cakes, and other yummy treats to the menu. The sandwiches are excellent as well. We booked the Vintage afternoon tea for my Mum's 95th birthday and it was exceptional. The sandwiches were tasty, the scones with jam and cream were delicious, and the lemon posset was a hit. Even though we were stuffed, we took the cakes home and enjoyed them the next day. The service was great, with bottomless tea served in vintage china. Don't let a negative review from JamesD deter you from visiting. I visit 3-4 times a week and have never been disappointed. The place is always clean, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for the customers."
