"I booked a table for for Saturday, October, to celebrate my birthday. I had phone conversations with staff beforehand, one to confirm the booking and one to correct their online confirmation, which stated that it was it was for people....At no point did anyone at the restaurant tell me that there was a time limit on the use of our table. I was very upset when, after one and three quarter hours and immediately after my birthday cake was delivered to the table, we were told that we had to leave as their were other customers who had been booked in for our table. We were not even given time to cut the cake. I protested and asked to speak to the manaager. She said that I had been told the time limit when I made the booking. No, I hadn't been told that and wouldn't have made the booking if i'd known. Oh, well I'd been told in a text which they sent me that morning. No, I wasn't and, as I haven't deleted the text, I can prove it. Oh well, there was a card on the table with that information. I didn't see it and in a ny case, it is no good telling us something when we arrive; if we didn't like the arrangement it would not have been feasible to relocate a party of on a Saturday night at the drop of a hat. The manageress seemed to be at a loss to know what to do, as she said that there were people already waiting. I suggested that she apologise to them and tell them that she should not have taken the booking from them at that time. However, I was so upset that I decided to leave, with my party, declining to pay a service charge, The sheer greed of these people who try and pack in a many bookings that they feel they can get away with, without any regard for their customers' satisfation, amazes me."

The food is just fabulous here. I have been a few times and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Portions are great and just so so tasty!!! Wow. Keep up the great work guys

we have heard that this was a great place and we were not disappointed. tried sant yago many times and while they are great, nicholsons offers much better value for money. the foods and cocktails are amazing, they will not regret their visit to albert road.

The food was excellent but we were a bit conservative with our choices. We looked at what other people ordered and regretted playing it safe. That said, the food we ordered was fantastic especially the belly pork with crunchy crackling. We will be back next...time in Southsea.

I came to eat. the food was great and came very quickly after the order from the kitchen. the personal was friendly, but unfortunately not as attentive as what they could have been as we wait minutes for our bill. other than...that I would definitely recommend and return for some more of their famous steak-skewers! The food at this restaurant is delicious. They offer a variety of tapas and main dishes to choose from. If you still have room, there are dessert options available. I have dined here multiple times and have always enjoyed it. Make sure to check their website before visiting, as they often have special offers available.

nicholson booked as late valentinstag meal with my partner. the staff were friendly and helpful as they let us bring our booking an hour forward! eating was great and offers a great selection of different tapas and sharing plates that cover all the bases of meat, fish and veggie dishes. would recommend the steak-skewers completely.
